Earlier, these question papers were printed, locked up in banks and then distributed to various centres an hour before the said examination. Unfortunately, this system has failed. To facilitate these new measures, the CBSE will offer logistical support for its new encrypted system to various centres. Equipment like printers, internet connection, computers, photocopy machines and regular power supply will be given to these exam centres.

The CBSE also have to ensure that sudden internet connectivity problem, or another similar problem, should not occur at the last minute at any centre, also putting in place a Plan-B if such a problem arose.

In case of emergency, the board has also decided to keep a few hard copies of question papers and these papers vary from the encrypted ones.
The method of encrypted question papers is only applicable for the Class 10th compartmental examination, and not to the class 12th compartmental examination.

The board initiated the method as a result of the recommendations given by the committee members. According to the board members, if the method works well, the board will look forward to adopting it in the 2020 board examinations in order to avoid further leakage.
