Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Counselling registration process has been extended till July 18, 2023. Candidates who have qualified the NEET exam as per the NEET Cutoff 2023, can apply for this counselling process before the last date. NEET is a national level medical entrance examination which is organized by the NTA for giving admission in the MBBS & BDS courses.     • Phase 1: This phase is for government quota seats. The provisional rank list for government quota seats was released on July 6, 2023. The web option entry for phase 1 counselling will be held from July 11 to 17, 2023.
    • Phase 2: This phase is for management quota seats. The provisional rank list for management quota seats will be released on July 18, 2023. The web option entry for phase 2 counselling will be held from July 20 to 25, 2023.

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2023 Updates

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2023 is organised for the candidates of Tamil Nadu state who have successfully qualified the NEET 2023 entrance exam. The Medical Council Committee(MCC) organizes the counselling for the 15% AIQ seats. while the 85% state quota seats are fulfilled by the respective state authorities.

For participating in the counselling process, candidates have to register themselves by filling the application form. The seats are allotted to the students on the basis of their rank, choice, category and number of seats available for the course.

  • Tamil Nadu NEET UG Round 1 Joining Date Extended: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research has extended the joining time for candidates selected in round 1 of Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling 2023 for MBBS and BDS courses. The new joining deadline is August 14, 5 PM.
  • Candidate Representation: The decision to extend the joining time was prompted by numerous representations from candidates, leading to the extension of the Round 1 joining period for the academic year 2023-2024 session.
  • Fee Payment Instructions: Officials reiterated the importance of adhering to fee payment instructions outlined in the prospectus. Payment options include debit card, credit card, net banking, and UPI through nationalized banks’ payment portals.
  • Proof of Fee Payment: The deduction of fees from a bank account is not considered proof of payment. Candidates must provide accurate account details during registration for proper fee refund procedures.
  • Fee Exemption for Eligible Candidates: SC, ST, SCA, SC converts to Christianity candidates allotted seats in the Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2023 management quota with a parent’s annual income below Rs 2,50,000 are exempted from paying tuition fees before downloading the allotment order.
  • Warning to Self-Financing Institutions: Officials issued a warning to self-financing institutions, cautioning against refusing admission or demanding higher fees than those prescribed by the Fee Fixation Committee during MBBS and BDS counselling rounds.
  • Adherence to Admission Process: Self-financing institutions must adhere to the admission process and fee regulations to avoid strict actions in cases of non-compliance.
  • The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Tamil Nadu has published the TN NEET UG counselling 2023 Round 1 seat allotment result.
  • Result Availability: Candidates can check their results on the official website, tnmedicalselection.net.
  • Provisional Allotment Letter: Successful Round 1 allottees can download their provisional allotment letters from August 7 to August 11.
  • Reporting to Institutes: Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 need to report to their designated institutes by August 11 (5 pm).
  • Document Verification: The document verification process will occur at the allotted colleges, requiring candidates to bring original documents and scanned copies.
  • Subsequent Rounds: Additional rounds, Round 2 and a mop-up round, are scheduled for TN NEET counselling 2023 based on seat availability.
  • Opting for Categories: Candidates not choosing self-financing MBBS (Category B) seats in Round 1 won’t be considered for that category in Round 2, as per DMER Tamil Nadu’s policy.
  • Seat Allotment Criteria: TN MBBS seat allocation considers choices, NEET UG score, state merit rank, reservation, and other relevant criteria.
  • Admission Procedure: Reporting to allotted colleges before the specified deadline is crucial for securing admission; failure to comply may lead to cancellation.
  • Counselling Scope: DME Tamil Nadu manages TN MBBS and BDS counselling for 85% state quota and 100% of private college seats. The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are handled by NEET 2023 counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Counselling Selection & Admission Procedure

The steps that are involved for the selection and admission on the basis of the Tamil Nadu NEET 2023 Counselling are below:

  • Registration
    • Candidates have to fill the details in the online application from the official website or click on the given link.
    • Upload the documents i.e. photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
    • Then, Send the application form via courier or speed post to the below mentioned address.

    • It will be released in online mode on the official website.
  • Choice filling and submission
    • Candidates have to fill their choices during the counselling.

  • Seat Allotment
    • The seats will be allotted during the counselling process only.
    • The allotment depends on the candidate’s choice filling and availability of seats.
  •  Reporting to the college
    • After successful allotment of the seat, candidates have to report to the allotted college to confirm their seat.
    • Candidates have to pay the fee and have to bring the original documents at the college.
