Admit Card, Result & Counselling

Admit Card

The VITEEE hall ticket is released online only — no physical copy is sent by post. Candidates download it using their application number and date of birth from the official portal. It typically carries exam date, slot, venue, reporting time and photograph. Expected: March–April 2027.

Result

VIT declares results in rank-list format (VITEEE rank). There is no score card; the rank determines eligibility for counselling. Based on past years, results are announced within a week of the last exam slot. Expected: April–May 2027.

Counselling

VIT conducts its own centralised online counselling (VITACC) for seat allocation across Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati campuses. Counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. Candidates choose branch and campus preferences based on their rank. Expected: May–June 2027. There is no separate JOSAA-style process; VIT counselling is entirely independent.

From Our Desk

EntranceZone editorial observations — based on covering VITEEE across multiple cycles:

  • Photo upload is the single biggest stumbling block. We have seen a large number of applications get flagged or delayed because the photograph has a coloured or patterned background instead of plain white. VIT’s system does auto-check proportions, and a rejection at this stage means starting the upload again — so get the specification right the first time.
  • The server slows significantly in the final 48 hours before the deadline. We have consistently observed this across the last three cycles. If you are filling the form in February or March (whichever is the closing month), aim to submit at least three days early — especially for the fee payment step, which times out if the gateway is under load.
  • Slot booking is first-come, first-served — and Chennai fills fastest. We have seen candidates who delayed slot booking by even two days lose access to Chennai test centres entirely. If Chennai (or any metro city) is your preferred venue, log in the moment slot booking opens.

VIT’s process is independent of JoSAA or any other central counselling body.
