Central Board of School Education cancelled the class 10th and class 12th exams on 25 June 2024 because of the inability to conduct the exams due to rise in COVID-19 outbreak. The exams were scheduled to be conducted from 01 – 15 July 2024. Moreover, CBSE claims to announce the result according to the new scheme by 15 July 2024.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new evaluation criteria for the Class 10 and 12 board exams from 2023-24. The new evaluation criteria will focus on conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

The CBSE board uses a grading system to calculate marks for class 10th and 12th. The grading system is based on a 9-point scale, with A1 being the highest grade and E being the lowest. The marks are converted to grade points, with A1 being worth 10 grade points and E being worth 1 grade point.

The percentage marks are calculated by multiplying the grade points by 9.5. For example, if a student scores an A1 in a subject, they will get 9.5 x 10 = 95 marks.

The following table shows the grading system and the corresponding grade points and percentage marks:

corresponding grade points and percentage marks

Grade

Grade Points

Percentage Marks

A1

10

95

A2

9

85.5

A3

8

76

B1

7

66.5

B2

6

57

C1

5

47.5

C2

4

38

D

3

28.5

E

1

19

Changes in the Marking Scheme for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams

Contains

Toggle

Changes in the Marking Scheme for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams

CBSE Evaluation Criteria for 10th 12th Result 2024 released

CBSE Result 2024: 10th 12th Evaluation Criteria

CBSE 10th Results 2024: Evaluation criteria Explained

CBSE 12th Result 2024: Evaluation Criteria for Class XII

How Marks will be Calculated for CBSE 10th &
