LPU’s National Entrance and Scholarship Test LPUNEST

LPU’s National Entrance and Scholarship Test: LPU NEST is an entrance test of LPU to numerous programs. Till 2019 this test was considered as a test to avail scholarship at LPU. From 2020 onwards, LPU NEST is not only a scholarship and entrance test to LPU. An applicant who clear this test and joins any of the IITs/NITs, he/she can also get a study grant of up to 2 lakhs to pursue higher studies at IITs/NITs.

The total grant value LPU has launched is of Rs 7.7 crores for students who join IITs/NITs.There are total 23 IITs across the country and 10 students entering each of these IITs, after cracking LPU NEST 2021, can obtain a study grant of Rs 2 lakhs each. Moreover, each of the 10 students taking affirmation at any of the 31 NITs can avail scholarship of Rs 1 lakh. As such, 540 students can get a study grant up to 2 lakhs each.

This is a very unique opportunity for the students who have a dream of studying at the top institutions of the country.  Shedding light on this scholarship test,  Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal stated “ LPU was started as a social enterprise, and presently it has also provided scholarship up to 300 crores to 20 thousand students who joined LPU. This year, we thought we could further support students to join several top institutes like IITs/NITs. So, LPU has introduced a study grant, and we really hope that students will be able to get benefit from this”.

Every year more than 1 lakh 50 thousand students aspire to get the scholarship via “LPU NEST” which is an online test conducted in 200+ centres across the country and in 50+ countries. This year, in 2019, this test is being conducted in two phases- 21 January to 05 February 2020 and 05 – 30 April 2020. After Schedule I, if an applicant wants to improve the result, he/she may also appear for the second time under Schedule II. The better score will be considered for the final calculation of the cut-offs/ ranks.

The pattern for the question paper in the LPU NEST is 30 questions on Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology and 20 questions based on English syllabus. There is no negative marking in this exam and each correct answer fetches 4 marks. The syllabus for this test is similar to that of the 10+2 class.
