To apply for Navik posts in the Indian Coast Guard, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. You must be an unmarried male citizen of India between 18 and 22 years of age – candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects or B.Sc/ Diploma in Nautical Science/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics from a recognised educational institute. Additionally, applicants must be physically fit according to Coast Guard standards including having a satisfactory Medical fitness Certificate.

Interested candidates must apply online from the Indian Coast Guard’s official website before the deadline. Candidates are asked to fill in all the mandatory details and submit their application. After provisionally submitting, applicants should take a print out of their filled-in applications for future reference. An option to edit/modify/delete the application is not available once the form is submitted. So, it is advised to fill in complete and accurate details.
Selection Process of Indian Coast Guard Navik Posts.
Selection of Indian Coast Guard Navik posts is done in the following sequence; Preliminary Selection, Physical & Medical Examination and Written Examination. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary selection will be called for physical & medical examination at respective recruitment centers (as mentioned in their admit card). The written test consist of objective type question and topics related to General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Those who qualify all three stages of selection shall be inducted as an Indian Coast Guard Navik.
Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2023 selection process: The candidate is selected based on an all-India order of merit based on their performance in Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, and Stage IV.
Initial Training of Indian Coast Guard Naviks.
Training of Indian Coast Guard Naviks is conducted in three stages. The first stage is the Basic Induction which includes General Awareness Courses such as Sea Survival Techniques, Search & Rescue and First Aid & Fire-fighting. Second stage Specialised Courses include Marine Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications, Navigation & Direction and Motor Transport Operations etc. Finally third stage Professional Qualification is designed to impart specialised training in different streams such as Weapons Control System Operator, Boarding team member/Weapon Firing etc.
Key responsibilities and duties of Indian Coast Guard Naviks.
Indian Coast Guard Naviks are responsible for personnel management, force protection and training, vessel operation and onboard maintenance. They also manage the deployment of vessels, maintain surveillance over prohibited areas, enforce maritime safety laws, provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in times of distress. Other duties include supervising boat handling operations, carrying out search and rescue missions, obtaining intelligence information on unlawful activities occurring offshore or along the coastlines.
