Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Mumbai (IIGJ) is an initiative of GJEPC and established by Ministry of Commerce & Industries in 2003. The Institute has its main training facility at Andheri and at Tardeo in the heart of Mumbai City. IIGJ Mumbai provides the facility by establishing a new skill development centre in Andheri (M.I.D.C) dedicated for conducting specialized courses in the Jewellery in alignment with NSDC standard. With regular jewellery educational classes for students, IIGJ Mumbai also provides Management Development Programme as this adds to their overall Professional resources for Future Employment and Personal Development in Jewellery Industry.
Candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria for taking admission in various courses provided by Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Mumbai. IIGJ provides admission in the following courses:
IIGJ Mumbai provides following course at graduate level:
IIGJ Mumbai in collaboration with Mewar University (established under section 2(f)of the UGC act, with the right to confer degree under section 22(1) of the UGC Act, vide letter No.F.9-15/2009 (CPP-I) on 30th March 2009) as their training partner provides admission in BA Degree in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing Techniques. Candidates seeking admission in degree course in Gems & Jewellery education. This course is of six semesters out of which last semester includes only Internships.

The purity of Gems needs to be validated through testing, or in technical terms - Assaying.
Assaying is the process of determining precious metals content in an alloy. IIGJ Mumbai provides admission for this course initiative in the form of the Precious metals Assay and Training Institute (PMATI). It is a joint venture between the World Gold Council and MMTC-PAMP Pvt. Ltd. The first and the only assay training institute in India, PMATI provides formal training and certification for the assaying of precious metals like gold, thereby IIGJ offers its students a unique opportunity to make a career in assaying precious metals. After completing all different course modules, the candidate can become a certified assayer and secure an exciting career for life.
