IISc Admission 2020: Application Form (Extended), Eligibility

IISc Admission 2020 Application Form last date has been extended till 30 April 2020 for UG & Research courses. IISc Aptitude Test/ GD-PI/ Interview for PG courses (M.Tech/ M.Des/ M. Mgt) admission has been scrapped due to COVID-19. Indian Institute of Science (IISc) provides admission in various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D level courses. Eligible candidates will be provided admission in the scientific and technological research fields on the basis of their scores in JEE Main, JEE Advanced, CEED, JAM, NEET and other national tests. Candidates can check more details like exam dates, application details, pattern, syllabus, etc. of IISc Admission 2020.

IISc 2020 Application Form

Given below are important points regarding IISc 2020 Application Form:

  • Candidates have to fill the application form in online mode at the IISc Official website.
  • IISc 2020 Application form has been started from 01 February 2020 for both UG & PG courses.
  • Candidates have to upload scanned images of signature & passport size photograph along with the mark sheet of Class 10 and 12.
  • The Application process includes the steps – Online registration, filling details, uploading of images and application fee payment.
  • Candidates must make sure that all the details entered in the form are filled correctly as any changes can not be made later.

Application Fee

After filling the details in the registration form, candidates have to pay the IISc registration fee which varies according to the course chosen by the candidate. Given below is the course-wise registration fee:

IISc Admission Eligibility Criteria

Given below is the course-wise eligibility criteria for all the courses provided by the Indian Institute of Science

For UG Courses:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination in the year 2020.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have PhysicsChemistry and Mathematics as main subjects in class 12.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination. ST/SC candidates need to pass only.
  • Appearing: Candidates who will be appearing in class 12 in 2020 can also apply.
  • Scorecard: KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET qualified candidates must have their respective exams scorecard.

For PG Course (M.Tech):

  • Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (B.E/ B.Tech) in the respective field of Technology/ Engineering.
  • Appearing: Last year can also apply for PG course admission.
  • Scorecard: Candidates must have a valid score-card/ result of GATE 2018/2019/2020.
  • CAM (Career Analysis Marks): For admission in M.Tech (Climate Science/ Earth Sciences/ Electronic Systems Engineering /Microelectronics & VLSI Design), overall rank list will be considered by considering previous academic performances (ex: 10th/ 12th /UG, etc ) decided by the respective departments.

For PG Course (M.Mgt):

  • Qualification: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree (B.E/ B.Tech) or equivalent in Technology/Engineering from a recognized board can apply.
  • Scorecard: Candidates must have valid GATE 2018/ 2019/ 2020, CAT 2019 or GMAT score card.

IISc 2020 Rank List

After the application process, IISc will release the merit list on the basis of the candidates marks in the national level entrance exam. Candidates have to qualify any one of the test – KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, GATE, CAT, CEED, CSIR-UGC NET/ JRF, JAM, DBT JRF, ICMR JRF, JEST to apply for admission in various courses. For M.Des and M.Tech (Electronics System Engg, Climate Science, Computational Science, Earth Science, Electrical Engineering) courses, candidates have to appear and qualify the aptitude test after being shortlisted on the basis of GATE scores.

Separate merit list will be prepared by the IISc board for reserved categories candidates. Such applicants will be called for the interview process on the basis of merit list.

IISc 2020 Cut Off

IISc 2020 Cut Off will be released in online mode for all the categories. Cut-off is the minimum marks that every students must have to score to qualify the exam. IISC cut off depends on the number of students applying for exam, difficulty level, previous year cut-off trends, etc.

Authority will publish the cut-off rank for various programmes. The expected cut-off for UG Course for General Category candidates will be 60%, for OBC-NCL 54%  and for ST, SC and PWD candidates it is expected to be 30%.
