Madras Christian College (MCC) is a Government Aided Institution located in Madras (Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India. It is an arts and sciences college established in 1837 and is one of Asia's oldest extant colleges. The college is affiliated to the University of Madras and was ranked 13 in National Institutional Ranking Framework 2019 by MHRD. 

MCC offers various courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the fields of Arts, Sciences, and Commerce. Apart from these, the college also offers vocational streams of Archaeology and Musicology at the undergraduate level and postgraduate courses in Social Work (MSW) and Computer Applications (MCA). Madras Christian College also offers M.Phil and PhD programmes with various specialisation. 

The college offers merit-based admission into its all UG and PG courses except MCA for which candidates have to appear for TANCET ( Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) conducted by Anna University.

Madras Christian College UG Admission 2020

MCC offers various courses at an undergraduate level such as B.A, B.Voc, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BCA and BSW. These courses are of 3 years duration. Admission to these courses will be done based on the performance in the qualifying examination i.e 10+2 level examination. 

The maximum age limit for admission in UG courses is 21 years as on 01 July 2020. The college considers providing Relaxation of 5 Years for differently-abled and 3 years for women candidates. The minimum eligibility required for admission is to pass in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Note:
  • If a candidate is passed from a Board other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSCE and ISCE than he/she must produce Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras.
  • All students who had passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu State Board by Private Study and private candidates from CBSE or under the OPEN SCHOOL SYSTEM also need to produce eligibility certificate.

Madras Christian College PG Admission 2020

At postgraduate level, the Madras Christian College offers various programmes such as M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, MSW with 2 years duration. MCC also offers MCA programme for the duration period of 3 years. 

Admission to all PG courses, except MCA, will be provided based on merit in the qualifying degree course. MCA admission will be done based on the score in TANCET or any other Common Entrance Test recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. 

At the undergraduate level, candidates have to opt for a paper in Chemistry for the admission in M.Sc in Zoology and Plant Biology & Plant Biotechnology.
