Applicants must have a pass certificate at the 10 + 2 level of CBSE with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% aggregate for entry into Applied Sciences in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics. In individual subjects, pass marks are required. They would have learned English at the level of 10 + 2 as a key or elective. The admission is based on the merit of the written test / CET. A counselling procedure must be carried out. A counselling procedure shall be conducted. Admission is subjective to students appearing in-person for the counselling and depositing immediately the required fee for freezing of seats.

85% of the accepted intake is reserved for Delhi Area students. Applicants will be considered as applicants for the Delhi Area if they have qualified from any school or university located in Delhi's NCT or from any institution affiliated with GGSIP University. 15% of the seats are in the "Outside Delhi Area Applicant". A 5% reduction in minimum marks needed for eligibility would be permitted for SC / ST applicants, ward of Defense workers, and PWD applicants. MSIT has 7.5% of the applicant seats in the Delhi Region reserved for Scheduled Tribes in the Delhi Region and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes outside the Delhi Region. Unless the Institute thinks otherwise, 10% of the Outside Delhi Area seats are reserved for Management Quota students. There is no set scholarship policy for the college, but circulars are rolled out all year round and applicants may apply accordingly. INR 13,000 scholarships are given to students of academic merit per annum. Economically weaker applicants can check to the headquarters at GGSIPU for a fee waiver and receive a reduction of up to INR 50,000 from the annual institution fee.
