DU SOL Admission 2020: Courses, Eligibility, Application Process

DU SOL Admission 2020 for UG courses is on the basis of as per the marks obtained in 10+2 examination. Admissions in PG  courses are offered under two categories, i.e., Entrance and Merit-based. For PG Courses, 50% seats of the total are filled through merit and remaining 50% seats are filled based on entrance test, GD or PI. School of Open Learning (SOL) which is earlier known as The School of Correspondence Courses and Counting Education and affiliated to University of Delhi was established in 1962. It is a pioneer Institution providing education through the Distance Education in India. The School offers various UG and PG Courses in the field of Arts and Commerce. SOL offers to learn through distance education mode by which students demanding a flexible medium of instruction to attain higher education and vocational skills can attain degree.

SOL DU BA & B.Com Admission 2020

At UG level, school of open learing offers admission in BA, BA (Hons.), B.Com and B.Com (Hons.) courses in various disciplines. Candidate must have passed class 10+2 with the cognate subject and desired percentage of marks to be eligible for admission. The admission is completely merit-based. The candidates will be called for document verification and seat allotment as per the cut off lists published time to time during the admission cycle.

SOL DU MA & M. Com Admission 2020

SOL Delhi University offers MA and M.Com courses at the postgraduate level. DU SOL offers admission to PG courses through the following two categories- Entrance-based and Merit-based. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria with respect to the categories before applying for the admission. Registration Process for Master’s programs offered under DU-SOL usually begins in the month of August-September every year. Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree from the university other than DU need to take the entrance test conducted by the University of Delhi. Students who have Bachelor's degree from DU can apply for admission on the basis of their marks in qualifying exam.

Important Points:
  • For M.Com course, university offers direct admission after normalizing the marks of eligible B.Com or B.Com (Program) / B.Com (Pass) candidates.
  • In case of M.Com, Marks are normalized by deducting 5% and preparing the merit list on the basis of combined merit of B.Com (Hons). and B.Com or B.Com (Program) / B.Com (Pass) after deduction.
  • For MA (Sanskrit), candidates with at least 45% (OBC candidates must have 40% marks and SC/ST/PH must have 35%) in university admission test for admission. University will prepare a merit list as per the merit list on the basis of seats available.
  • The candidates with score less than the above percentage in admission test can apply for admission in SOL/ Non-Collegiate on the basis of seats available.
  • Admissions are also open to Indian nationals settled abroad provided they are eligible and take the University examination at the Delhi Centre.
  • Foreign nationals residing in India can also apply for admission.

SOL DU Application Process 2020

Candidates have to go through the following points in order to apply for admission at School of Open Learning of Delhi University:

For UG Programme:
  1. Register on the DU SOL official website.
  2. Log in and fill the application form after entering all the necessary details.
  3. Upload the required documents and then click on submit.
  4. Pay the registration fees online and save the final Application form.
  5. Print the fee receipt and print the ID Card.
  6. Visit the designated SOL center and get your document verified.
For PG Programme:
Candidates can collect application form cum prospectus either from the Main Center at North Delhi Campus or from the South Study Center at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi after paying the fees of Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC/ST/PH) In the form of DD drawn in favor of ‘The Executive Director, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi’ Payable at New Delhi, as the application fee. Fill all the details asked in the application form and submit it to the center along with desired documents.
Documents required to be enclosed with the application form:
  • Duly filled application form
  • Bank draft of admission confirmation fee
  • Two recent passport size photographs (one for the application and another for identity card)
  • Self-attested photocopy of Class X & XII Certificate
  • Self-attested copy of graduation marks sheet (all years)
  • Original Provisional Certificate of Graduation for current year students (other students will have to submit the photocopy of degree certificate)
  • Migration Certificate in original
  • Self-attested photocopy of Reserve Category Certificates of candidate only
  • Original Income Certificate (BPL Ration Card
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
