Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College (SBSEC), established in 1973 by Delhi Administration is a constituent college of University of Delhi. The college offers BA and B.Com courses under the departments of Commerce, Geography, English, Economics, History, Political Science, Hindi and Physical Education. The college offers three-year BA and B.Com courses in Honors and Program mode with an annual intake of around 800 students.  For admissions to BA (Hons) and B.Com (Hons) courses, candidates must have scored 45% marks in 10+2. SBSEC Admission 2020 UG Courses

College offers various courses at under-graduate level in the field of Arts and Commerce. Admission is strictly based on the marks scored in pre-qualifying examination in the relevant discipline. For UG courses, admission is done based on marks obtained in 10+2 level by the candidates. The students are strictly selected as per their merit, done by the college itself. Seats for SC/ST/OBC categories are reserved in all undergraduate courses as per the directive given by University of Delhi and Government of India (SC: 15%; ST: 7.5%; OBC: 27%).   • For all the female applicants, the college offers relaxation of 1% in the qualifying examination.
  • All the subjects included in the calculation of Best Four must have at least 70% theory component.
  • Trials for ECA and Sports quota admissions will be at two levels: Preliminary and Finals.
  • Candidates who have performed/played at International Level must produce the certificates for the same and are eligible for direct admissions without trials.

SBSEC Admission 2020 Application Procedure

Applications for admissions have to be submitted through the common portal of University of Delhi. All the eligible candidates can apply through the steps given below:

  • Visit the University of Delhi website.
  • Click on ‘New Applicant Sign Up’ link by clicking on the new registration link under the UG Admissions tab at the home page.
  • Register with a valid email id and password.
  • A confirmation link will be sent to the candidates after successful registration.
  • Fill the application form and proceed to pay.
  • The application fee is given below:

Note: Applicants seeking admission through ECA/ Sports quota have to apply through the DU portal only. Such candidates have to pay an additional fee of Rs.100 for registration.

Candidates who meet the cut off should log in to the UG admission portal and select SBSEC College and their desired course. A print out of the online admission form with photograph should be brought by the candidates during the verification process. After the approval of admission, candidates should make the online fee payment through the online portal. Candidates must have original and photocopies of the following documents at the time of admission:

Students shall be required to produce following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission:

  • Eligibility Slip issued by the College (Computation of best 4%)
  • DU Registration Form (Containing the College Name and the Course to which the admission is being taken)
  • Duly filled Reference Card (Detached from Admission Form supplied by the college)
  • Duly filled I-Card Form (Detached from Admission Form supplied by the college)
  • Class X Board Examination Certificate
  • Class X Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST/PwD/CW/KM Certificate (in the name of candidate) issued by a competent authority
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of student) issued by a competent authority
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board / University are required from students who have passed the senior secondary exam from outside Delhi
  • Two passport size self-attested photographs of the student

Attestation of Documents

Delhi University accepts the self-attested copies of documents/papers provided by the students. It is made clear that if any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the candidate will be debarred from attending any course in the university or its college(s) for the next five years and besides, a criminal case under relevant sections of IPC (viz, 470, 471, 474, etc.) will be instituted against him/her, to subject him/her to the requisite criminal proceedings.

Admission Cycle of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College

Admission into UG merit-based courses such as BA, BCom and other UG courses commence in May every year.

International Student Admissions

All the foreign students would be offered admission through the Office of the Foreign Students Advisor. All the international students are expected to undergo a medical examination within one month of their admission according to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The admission of all the international students will only be confirmed after the results of the medical fitness examination and the admissions would remain provisional till then.
