SGNDKC, New Delhi Application Process 2020

The candidates looking for admission in this college are required to register online or can download the application form from the official website of University of Delhi. It is important for thecandidates to check the eligibility before applying for the courses. Candidate can also visit the college office to purchase the form. Also, download Sikh Minority registration form, if applicable.

For Online Mode –

  • Visit the official website of the Delhi University.
  • Register by creating a login id and password.
  • Sign in with the registered details to fill the online application form.
  • Submit after completely filling the application form.
  • Upload the required documents wherever mentioned.
  • Pay the Application Fees Online by Net Banking/Credit/Debit Card.

For Offline Mode–

  • The candidates can obtain the prospectus and the application form from the admission office of the college.
  • Also, candidate can download the application form from the University’s official website.
  • Fill the application form correctly.
  • Affix the passport sized photographs on the form.
  • Carefully sign the form wherever necessary and mentioned along with the signature of the parents/ guardian.
  • Attach the required documents and submit the same at the admission office.

SGNDKC UG Admissions 2020 

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College offers various courses in undergraduation in the discipline of arts and commerce such as BA, B.Com (Hons), BA (Hons) etc. All these courses are for a full time duration of 3 years. The basic eligibility criteria to take admission in any of these UG courses is to have passed 10+2 in relevant streams with minimum 40% marks (for General degree) and 45% marks (for Hons. degree). The candidates are selected on the basis of the merit list prepared by calculating the percentage obtained in 10+2 in a language and 3 best subjects.

  • Merit is calculated by such methods- marks of a language + 3 Best subjects or Marks of language + subject of choice (in hons.) and 2 Best subjects.
  • In the calculation of Best 4 subjects for merit, the subjects chosen must have at least 70% of the theory components and rest on pro-rata basis.
  • Additional 2% to the merit will be given to the candidates who have studied the particular language in the qualifying exam as well.
  • No candidates are allowed for simultaneous admission in 2 programs

SGNDKC PG Admissions 2020 

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College offers MA Punjabi and M.Com under the PG programs through centralized admission by Delhi University. The candidates who plan to take admission in these PG courses must have obtained a graduate degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks from University of Delhi or any other recognized University. Selection of the candidates with 65% marks or above in graduate (Hons.) degree or 70% in general UG degree is done on merit basis while rest of the candidates have to appear for an entrance examination conducted by Delhi University.

  • The candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories are eligible for direct admission on merit basis.
  • Approximately 50% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Sikh Minority.

Scholarships 2020

Students applying under Sikh Minority Quota are required to get their Sikh Minority Certificate made from the office of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi - 110 001 before the time of admission. This certificate is mandatory. 

  • Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College provides special financial aids and scholarships to the deserving candidates.
  • The college provides financial assistance to candidates in terms of fee-concession and stipends, which can be continued on the basis of the conduct and performance of the candidate in the college and academics respectively.
  • The college also has Student Aid Funds, which are meant for the benefits of candidates who are unable to meet the requirements of tuition fee, examination fee or to purchase books.
  • Special scholarship schemes are awarded by the Directorate of Education, New Delhi to SC/ ST candidates.
  • The candidates seeking these scholarships must apply and submit the scholarship forms for the academic year with the given time period

 

Reservation Criteria

  • Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College offers 50% reservation for the Sikh Minority candidates on the total intake of seats in each course.
  • Additionally, the college also reserves seats for the wards/ widows/ wives of Armed Forces Personnel/ Para-military Personnel, Person with Disabilities, Kashmiri Migrants, Candidates of Foreign Nationals, Sport and ECA.
  • The candidates applying under Sports/ ECA quotas have to undergo trials as and when scheduled by the college/ university.

The placement cell plays a crucial role in facilitating placement related activities in the college. This year witnessed a huge variety of domains offered to students including Banking, Finance, Sales, Marketing, IT, Education and many more. As many as 400 students were registered for the placement and internship sessions from distinct backgrounds and courses.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College 

One of the constituent colleges of Delhi University, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College is situated in New Delhi. The college was initially named after the ninth Guru of Sikhs Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, called as Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa (Evening) College. It was established in 1973 but in the academic year of 1988-89. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College has world-class infrastructure. Library of the college is fully air-conditioned and computerized with over 70 thousand books and is subscribed to various journals as per college departments’ needs. It also has a number of academic as well as cultural societies to ensure the overall development of its students. With the college’s helpful involvement, the societies are doing well in college as well as outside the college.
