Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai Admission 2023

• Candidates who are willing to apply for the UG courses must appear in the CLAT exam. 
• BA.LL.B. Integrated course – Candidates have to pass a 10+2 or equivalent exam from the recognized board.

MNLUM B.A.LL.B. Admissions 2023

The Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai provides admission to a 5 year integrated BA LLB program to eligible students. The minimum eligibility of this course is 10+2 or equivalent examination with 45% marks or its equivalent grade and 40% marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST categories. Admission is strictly based on the merit of CLAT. The major highlights of the course are:

Eligibility Criteria

• 10+2 or equivalent examination with 45% marks or its equivalent grade and 40% marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST categories.
• Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March / April 2023 are also eligible to apply.
• There is no upper age limit for LLB.

Selection Criteria

• Admission is strictly based on the merit of CLAT
• The reservation policy of the Government of Maharashtra will be followed.
• UG program is full time and residential.
• The total intake to the undergraduate B.A.LL.B program is 100 out of which 20 supernumerary seats under Foreign National / NRI / NRI Sponsored category and 2 seats for permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir under the UGC directives.

Admission through CLAT in MNLUM Mumbai

MNLUM PG Admissions 2023

The Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai offered a Postgraduate program i.e, LLM and MA programs are open to students who have an LLB degree. The minimum eligibility of these courses is candidates must have a graduation degree. The other highlights of the program are:

Eligibility Criteria

• An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% of marks or its equivalent grade and 45% of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST categories.
• Candidates appearing/awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also apply.
• Candidates will have to qualify for CLAT.

Selection Criteria

• Admission is strictly based on CLAT.
• The reservation policy of the Government of Maharashtra will be followed.
• All PG programs are full time and residential.
• The total intake to the PG graduate LL.M. is 50 students in which 10  supernumerary seats under Foreign National / NRI / NRI Sponsored category and 2 seats for permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir under the UGC directives.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s degree in Law with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 - point scale.
• A relaxation of 5% in eligibility criteria will be granted to candidates from SC / ST / OBC (Non - creamy layer) / Differently - Abled persons.
• Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply
• Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale.

Selection Criteria

• The admission shall be made through Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) conducted by the University.
• Admission will be subject to the availability of vacancy and faculty in the area of research chosen by the candidate.
• Enrolment for the Ph.D. Degree shall ordinarily be full - time or part-time.
  • The candidate shall put in a minimum of two years residence of which at least 18 months shall be in the university and three years shall be the maximum period in which a full-time candidate should complete the work and submit it for evaluation.
  • A part-time candidate shall put in a minimum of four years, including coursework, of part-time study at the University including time spent for research at any other place with the permission of the Supervisor.

MNLUM Application Process 2023

Candidates applying for UG and PG programs need to pay an application fee of Rs 4,000 for General category candidates and SC/ ST category candidates, the fee is Rs 3,500. Candidates need to register for CLAT. Follow the below-mentioned steps for the CLAT registration:

Admissions to the undergraduate program: Five years integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and post-graduate program: One year LL.M., at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is held through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on a merit basis.

How to apply for CLAT?

• Applications have to be submitted ONLINE only from website i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in
• Register on the website by using personal mobile number and email Id.
• Candidates must fill the necessary personal and academic details.
• Uploading of required documents
  • Front-facing passport size recent photograph with a plain background.
  • Signature of the candidate.
  • Category certificate if you are applying under SC / ST / OBC.
  • Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if you are applying if the candidate is P.W.D.
  • Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if you are coming under BPL category
• Application fees are INR 4000 and for SC / ST / BPL category candidates is INR 3500.
• Previous year question papers can be purchased at INR 500 not included in application fees.

• Candidates fulfilling all eligibility conditions and making application complete with all documentation shall be eligible for admission under this category.
  • The applicants will be interviewed by a Selection Panel appointed by the University.
  • Offer of admission under this category shall be in accordance with the merit list prepared by the Admission Committee.

Applications for Foreign Nationals/ NRI

• All applicants are required to pay the Application fee of INR 5000 (or USD 100) in case the remittance is made from abroad, by using the payment gateway details of which are available on the University website.
• Applications complete in all respects, together with self-attested copies card of necessary documents must reach the University on or before the given date.
• Candidates fulfilling all eligibility conditions and making application complete with all documentation shall be eligible for admission under this category.
  • The applicants will be interviewed by a Selection Panel appointed by the University.
  • The offer of admission under this category shall be under the merit list prepared by the Admission Committee.
