Note
- Applicants for the M. Phil. or Ph. D. programme are accepted twice a year.
- Applicants can apply both offline and online.
- The entrance exam application fee is INR 1000/- and 1500/- respectively (for late fees)
- Candidates must have passed the UGC-NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination, SLET/GATE, or be DST/ICMR/any other National Agency Fellow or have a Ph.D.
- Candidates with associated subject degrees from a recognised university are excluded from taking the entrance exam. These candidates will be chosen on the basis of their interview performance as well as their overall academic merit.
- Applicants who have earned M.Phil. degrees with a minimum B+ grade or equivalent from any recognised university (as a regular student) and who were admitted to the M.Phil level through an entrance test are excused from taking the entrance exam.

- Excellence in Result: Students having a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in the preceding year and no back papers in any subject are eligible for four-year scholarships from the university. If a student fails to maintain a minimal CGPA, the scholarship for the following academic year will be terminated, but it will be reinstated in succeeding years if the required CGPA is maintained.
- Minimum attendance achievements: Students who had a minimum of 75% attendance the previous year are eligible for a four-year scholarship from the university. If a student fails to maintain attendance, the scholarship for the following academic year will be terminated, but it will be reinstated in subsequent years if the minimum attendance requirement is met.
