• Admission in the various specialization of BA (H) and B.Sc (H) courses is on the basis of candidates’ scores in Presidency University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) conducted by WBJEEB
• At one time each candidate can apply for a maximum of two honors subjects in one go
• To take admission the candidate needs to pass intermediate with at least five recognized subjects along with English
• The candidate who is shortlisted for two subjects can choose their favorite at the time of counselling

Presidency University Kolkata Ph.D. Admission 2023

Presidency University Kolkata offers Ph.D. in a wide range of specializations in full-time mode. Admission is offered based on marks scored in the entrance test. The minimum eligibility criteria and selection process are given below-

• The candidate those are qualified in UGC or UGC-CSIR- NET / NET -LS  only they are eligible for taking admission
• Candidate must have a masters degree or professional degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade "B"
• Candidate get relaxation of 5% who belongs to SC/ ST category

• Selection is done on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the university followed by an interview

Admission through Presidency University Ph.D. Entrance Test

University conducts its own Ph.D. Entrance Test for which candidates have to fill the application form after fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Candidates must have at least 50% marks in aggregate, or the minimum equivalent grade decided by the university in the entrance test to be shortlisted for the interview.

Interview/Viva-Voce

• After qualifying for the entrance test, candidates have to attend the interview conducted by the respective Departmental Ph.D. committee of the University.
• The interview/viva-voce process shall consist of assessing the candidate on the basis of his/her brief research proposal (of about 500 words) to the interview panel.
• The proposal should highlight the applicant’s area of interest and an overview of his/her intended direction of research.
