Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil coursework in the university with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' are eligible to apply. 5 % relaxation given to SC/ST students. Those who have completed M.Phil degree/M. Phil dissertation and the viva voce is pending will be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the PhD Degree in the University.

PhD program can go up to three to six years and can be done on a regular or part-time basis. The Doctorate course is approved by UGC and Govt. of Punjab.

Rayat Bahra University Admission 2023 Application Process
Aspirants looking for admission in Rayat Bahra University are required to apply in online mode on the official website of the RMU, Mohali. Below are the steps to apply:
- Candidates are required to register themselves by creating their username and password for accessing the university portal and starting of the admission process.
- after registering, they need to verify the email id. They will receive credentials in the registered Email Id.
- Next, they need to fill and submit the online application form with all relevant information asked.
- Upload the documents mentioned in the guidelines.
- Then candidates will have to wait for the confirmation email.
- Once the online application and all supporting documents are received, it will be reviewed and an “Offer Letter” may be issued by the university, which may be either for “provisional admission or conditional offer letter” as the case may be.
- After receiving an offer letter, candidates have to pay the required registration fee.

- At any given moment, a student is only eligible for one scholarship or concession. To be eligible for any of the above-mentioned scholarships or concessions, the student must submit an application in the name of the Director/Principal/Registrar, together with all necessary documentation.
- The amount of scholarship/concessions available at the entry level (1st Semester) will be limited. All scholarships and perks are solely available to Indian citizens. All scholarships and concessions are only available to students in the 2019 batch.
