Sikkim University PhD & M.Phil Admission 2020 has been started from 25 September & the application form can be filled until 31 October 2020. The candidates who are seeking for admission in PhD & M.Phil courses will have to appear in the entrance exam to be organised by the University department. The exam is scheduled to be held from 24 to 26 November 2020. The qualifying marks in written examination for M.Phil/PhD is 50% for UR categories [45% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/DA or any other category. - A candidate may apply for a maximum of three M.Phil / PhD subjects/departments provided that s/he fulfils the minimum eligibility requirements.
- The written examination & interview are compulsory for M.Phil / PhD programmes admission.
Sikkim University PhD & M.Phil Entrance Test 2020
Check the M.Phil & PhD written test details below in the given points:
- The written test shall be for a total of 70 marks and 30 marks for interview.
- The syllabus consists of 50 % research methodology and 50 % subject-specific.
- The qualifying mark in written examination for M.Phil/PhD is 50% marks for all unreserved category candidates whereas [45% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/DA or any other category as notified by GoI from time to time].
Sikkim University PhD & M.Phil Admission 2020 Selection Process
The candidates will have to fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements to apply for doctoral programmes.
- All applications received shall be scrutinized by a duly appointed Working Committee for Admission (WCA).
- The list of selected candidates to appear in the test and for interview shall be uploaded on University website and shall be also displayed on departmental notice boards.
- No individual communication shall be made in this regard.
- 10% weightage will be given on marks obtained in written test with UGC- NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR-NET (including JRF), / ICAR-NET/ DBT-NET/ SLET / ICMR-NET/ GATE / Teacher Fellowship and M.Phil. degree
holders on regular mode with one-semester course work. - A consolidated list of qualified candidates in the written examination shall be published for an interview which will focus upon research interest and contribution to additional/new knowledge.
- The GoI rules regarding reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS or any other category shall be followed.

How to Apply for Sikkim University PhD & M.Phil Admission 2020?
The candidates must apply online on the official website of the university on or before the due date.
- Before applying, must read all the given important instructions carefully.
- Must fulfill the eligibility requirements else form will be rejected.
