Tata Institute of Fundamental Research(TIFR) was founded on 1st June 1945 with the support of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust under the vision of Dr. Homi Bhabha. Mathematics
The admission process of TIFR Ph.D. in mathematics specialization is:
- An Entrance Examination will be conducted to offer admissions to candidates in this program.
- All eligible candidates will first have to appear for the written screening test.
- Candidates who will clear the screening test will then further be called to appear for the interview round, which will serve as the main part of the admission process.
In some exceptional cases, a Special Entrance Examination may be conducted at any time of the year for an especially promising candidate at the discretion of the Subject Board.
Provision for Foreign Students: The above provision for a Special Entrance Examination will also be applied to especially promising candidates from abroad.
Technology and Computer Science
The admission process of TIFR Ph.D. in technology and computer science specialization is:
- Admissions for TIFR Ph.D. course in technology and computer science specialization is being done by TIFR entrance exam followed by the on-campus interview round.
- Students with the valid GATE score in EC, EE, MA (exams that were held during 2016 to 2018) have the option to apply directly to the course of Systems Science Ph.D. program without appearing in TIFR entrance exam.
