West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences
NUJS is considered to be one of the best of India's prestigious national law schools based on the five-year law degree model introduced and enforced by India's Bar Council. The NUJS, Kolkata, along with GNLU and NLSIU, Bengaluru, remain the only three national law schools that have as Chancellor the Honorable Chief Justice of India. NUJS faculty members have educational qualifications from leading international and national universities including Columbia University, Oxford University, Vanderbilt University, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) The objective of the university is "to advance and disseminate learning and knowledge of law and legal processes and their role in national development, to develop in the student and research scholar a sense of responsibility to serve society in the field of law by developing skills in regard to advocacy, legal service, legislation, law reforms".
