CTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria is released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi. This exam is held twice in a year in July and December. The candidates who want to make their career in the field of teaching in Government Sector need to score 60% in this exam and hence qualify this exam. CTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure their CTET July 2020 Eligibility before start filling the application form. Check all the essential information concern with CTET july 2020 eligibility criteria given below:

Education Qualification for Classes 1-5: Primary Stage

Candidates go through the given points of class 1-5 educational qualification:

  • Candidates need to clear the senior secondary examination or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002
  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Educational Qualification  for Classes 6-8: Elementary Stage

Go through the given below detail of eligibility for class 6-8:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure)
  • Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

Marks Relaxation

Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled. 

Other important information related to CTET 2020 Eligibility

Here are some key points regarding the CTET 2020 eligibility requirements:

  1. Diploma or degree course in teacher education should be recognized by NCTE.
  2. Diploma in education (special education) and B.Ed (special education) course should be recognized by rehabilitation council of India (RCI).
  3. The candidate with D.Ed (special education) has to undergo training. This is a course recognized by NCTE – 6 months of a special programme in elementary education.
  4. The educational qualification given above is for teachers of language, mathematics, social science, science, etc.
  5. For Physical Education teacher, the eligibility criteria should be referred from NCTE regulation, dated 03 November 2001.
  6. For the teachers of art education, craft education, work education, home science, etc the norms prescribed by the state government is applicable.
  7. Candidate pursuing teachers education course recognised by NCTE is also eligible.
