Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra was established in 1917 located in Dayalbagh in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It is an educational institution and has been given deemed university status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act of India in 1981. 

DEI is a public university formerly known as Radhasoami Educational Institute was founded by Professor M.B. Lal Sahab. Since September 2013, Prof. Prem Kumar Kalra is the Director of Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI). In 2018, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked the Dayalbagh Educational Institute 90 overall in India, 63 among universities and 69 in the engineering ranking

DEI offers various UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma and M.Phil & PhD courses in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Science and Social Science through Regular Mode. Other than these, the university also offers B.Com, BBM, M.Com, MBA and PG Diploma courses through Distance Education (DEI DEP) mode at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute B.Tech & B.Arch Admission 2020

The university offers B.Tech and B.Arch with various specialization for the duration of 4 years through full-time mode. The basic eligibility required is 10+2 with PCM from a recognised board. Admission in B.Tech programme is also provided based on a valid score of JEE Main whereas, NATA qualified students are eligible for B.Arch admission.

Eligibility for Admission in DEI, Agra

  • Relaxation of 5%in aggregate marks will be given to SC/ST and PwD candidates.
  • The upper age limit of candidates is 21 Years (24 years for SC/ST candidates) at the time of admission in B.Tech and B.Arch courses.
  • Admission to B.Tech Electrical Engineering (Part-Time) course is available only for male candidates.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute UG Admission 2020: BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA, BBA, B.VOC & B.Ed 

DEI University also offers BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BFA, B.Voc and B.Ed courses at Undergraduate level. Candidate must have completed 10+2 in a relevant subject is from a recognised board to be eligible for admission in UG courses. But for B.Ed admission, candidates must have completed a Graduation degree in any discipline. 

Admission is done based on the marks in 10+2 examination and in Written Test conduct by the university itself followed by an interview. To be eligible for the interview round, candidates have to qualify the Written Test by scoring at least 30% marks.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute M.Phil & PhD Admission 2020

In addition to UG and PG courses, DEI also offers M.Phil & PhD courses in various specializations. For admission in M.Phil & PhD, candidates must hold a master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. 

Admission to M.Phil & PhD is done based on the score in Written Test and RET (Research Entrance Test) respectively. Final admission will be provided based on the past academic record, performance in Entrance Test and interview. 

  • Application Form for PhD admission is available twice in a year in February & August and can be submitted till 01 March and 01 September every year respectively. 
  • Candidates who have qualified the NET-JRF/ NET-LS/ SLET or GATE exam are exempted from RET.
  • Permanent faculty/teacher of DEI with at least two papers published in a standard Journal are also exempted.
  • Students who have completed M.Phil from DEI are also exempted from RET.

DEI Research Entrance Test (RET)

RET is an entrance test organised by the university itself to provide admission in PhD and M.Phil programme. The test will be of 90 minutes (one and a half hour) and consist of three sections as mentioned below:
