Admission on basis of Merit

The Diamond Harbour Women’s University (DHWU) releases a course-wise merit list for the final admissions to its various postgraduate programs.

• Candidates who possess a bachelor's degree in the desired discipline of study can apply for the two-year Postgraduate courses, including M.A., M.Sc. and M.Com.
• The applications must be submitted through the university's website, and the selection is regulated by a merit system - dependent on marks acquired in the aforementioned qualifying examinatinon.

Diamond Harbour Women's University  P.G Admission 2023

Diamond Harbour Women’s University offers M.A, M.Com and M.A courses for the duration of 2-year in various specializations in the departments of Arts, Science and Humanities. Candidates must have done graduation in the related subject with at least 45% marks. The admission will be based on the merit in the qualifying examination. The other details related to admission in Postgraduate Courses can be found below:

• A candidate who is Honours graduate with Education Honours/ B.Ed. will stand eligible to apply for MA in Education.
• A candidate who has done graduation (Honours) in Mathematics/ Physics/C.S./BCA will be eligible to apply for admission.
• A 5% relaxation in total marks will be given for state-level position holder & National level participants for sportspersons.

DHWU M.Phil. And PhD. Admission 2023

• Candidates who will apply for both M.Phil. and PhD courses will have to apply through separate forms.
• The course fees of M.Phil. would be Rs. 4000/- and for PhD, it would be Rs. 5000/-.

PhD. Admissions

• UGC NET/SLET/SET/GATE or any other equivalent examination qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in RET and can appear in the interview.
• M.Phil. qualified candidates (in the concerned subject) under UGC regulation 2009 would be exempted from appearing for RET and will be considered for appearing before the interview board.
• The candidates who have qualified NET/SLET/SET/GATE or any other equivalent examinations and qualified M.Phil. in the concerned subject under UGC regulation 2009 and who have qualified RET, will have to appear in the interview with the research proposal of 1000 words.
• The interview will be of 50 marks.

M.Phil. Admissions 

• NET/SET/SLET examination qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing in the written examination.
• The minimum qualifying marks for appearing in Viva-voce is 25 marks which is 50% of the total marks (5% relaxation for SC, ST, OBC/differently-abled).

DHWU Admission Process 2023

Candidates can apply for admission at Diamond Harbour Women’s University via both online and offline mode. Candidates can check the steps to apply for admission from the following points:

• Make the payment of the registration fees in the online mode.
• Then take the print out of the online transaction acknowledgement receipt and keep it for future reference.
• After the generation of challan, take a print out of this Bank Challan.
• Now visit any IDBI bank branch 48 banking hours after taking a print out of the Challan.

2. Fill all the details required for submitting the form.
3. The registration fees of Rs. 300/- can be paid in online as well as in offline mode.
4. The Bank Challan has three parts:
   The bank will keep the bank copy, the candidate will get to keep the applicant’s copy and the third copy of this University has to be submitted to the university on the admission day if he/she will be called for the interview.
5. Now, after filling the form, save it and take a print out of the Bank Challan (if the payment is made offline), online payment acknowledgement receipt slip (if the payment is made online) and the complete form.
