BRAOU or Telangana Open University or Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University is formerly known as the Andhra Pradesh Open University is a public university established in the year 1982 by the Act of the State Legislature. It is located in Hyderabad and covers an area of 53.63 acres (217,000 m2)  in Jubliee Hills.  The university is recognized y UGC. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, PG Diploma, Certificate program, Research programs, etc in various fields of Arts, Commerce, Science, Journalism, and Mass Communication, Languages, Management, etc. The university offers the above courses based on the eligibility test and merit basis.

M.A. TeluguBachelor’s Degree with Telugu as Second Language or Telugu as one of the optional subjects or who have passed Telugu Examinations from the institutions of Telugu which are recognized as equivalent to B.A. by the State Government or Central Government of India are eligible to apply for admission in MA in Telugu.
M.A. UrduShould hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from an Indian University recognized by UGC and the Association of Indian Universities with URDU as Second Language or Urdu as one of the optional subjects.
M.ComIt is open to all citizens who possess a B.Com./B.B.A./ B.B.M./B.A (Commerce) Degree from a recognized board/university.

  • The candidates should have passed Bachelors Degree with at least 50% marks for open category candidates & 45% marks in case of reserved categories in the qualifying examination.
  • The Graduates from other faculties like Engineering / Technology, Pharmacy, Law, Medicine and Architecture and  Charted Accountants / Cost & Works Accountants / Company Secretaries are also eligible.

  • Should have passed UG degree with minimum 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.

  • Candidates appearing for final year examination in Qualifying Examination can also apply.
  • Candidate should have completed a minimum of 21 years as on 01 July 2023. No upper age limit.

B.Ed(Special Education)
  • Bachelors Degree (B.A. / B.Sc / B.Com / B.C.A / B.Sc (HomeScience)/BBM) and/or  Masters degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities/(relevant subjects of pedagogy) are eligible with minimum 50% marks.
  • B.E/B.Tech with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks.
  • However, the SC/ST/BC/PH candidates will be given a marks relaxation and they should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Pursuing candidates can also apply.
  • The minimum age should be 19 years as of 01 July 2023. There is no upper age limit. 
Min-2.5 years & Max-5 years
Note - M.B.B.S/B.D.S/BPT/B.A.M.S./B.L/L.L.B/B.A.(Languages)/BOL etc. and other such professionals are not eligible for admission into B.Ed. course.

BRAOU Hyderabad Application Form 2023

Candidates can apply for preferred courses of Telangana Open University by following the below steps;

  • On the official website of the university find the link to apply for the preferred course.
  •  Provide the required information and fill registration form “online” and upload photos and signatures.
  • Then after that submit the requisite fee.
  • After that collect a printout of the Registration Form from the University website and keep it safe till the admission process gets over.
  • Fee can be paid by debit/Credit Card OR  at the TS/AP online Franchisee Centre.
