Admission Through Entrance Test

• IUST offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various disciplines. Admission to the BTech programme is granted on the basis of a valid JEE Main score while admission to BTech LE is determined by merit.
• The University-based entrance examination is the determining factor for admission to BSc (Actuarial & Financial Mathematics), Post Basic BSc (Nursing) and BA (Hons) English courses. For MTech (Food Technology), applicants must possess a valid GATE score or qualify in the IUST entrance exam.
• The selection criterion for MBA admissions is based on scores obtained in CMAT/IUSAT MAT.

IUST BBA, BA & B.Sc. Admission 2023

The Islamic University of Science & Technology offers BBA, a BA Honors program in English, and a B.Sc. program in Actuarial & Financial Mathematics to students at the UG level.  The basic eligibility for admission is 10+2 qualification from a recognized board. The selection of BBA candidates is done based on the Undergraduate Management Aptitude Test (UG MAT), conducted by AIMA. BA English (Hons.) and B.Sc. AFM candidates are selected through entrance test conducted at the university level. • 01 seat in each UG program is reserved for the wards of permanent Employees of IUST.
• In case of a tie, B.Sc. AFM candidates having higher marks in Mathematics/or Statistics subject at 10+2 level are given preference.

IUST B.Tech Admission 2023

The Islamic University of Science & Technology offers a four-year B.Tech degree in 6 specializations. Lateral Entry in B.Tech is also offered by the institute. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to B. Tech courses is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology as the main subjects. B. Tech regular candidates are evaluated based on in JEE Main (Paper-I) marks and last qualifying exam marks. Lateral Entry candidates are selected through an entrance test conducted by the university. Below mentioned is the total intake, eligible criteria, and selection criteria about these courses offered by the University:

• Selection of candidates for B. Tech regular programs is done in the following pattern:
  • 60% preference to JEE Main (Paper-I) score
  • 40% preference to the normalized score of the qualifying exam
• Candidates with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are also eligible to apply for the B. Tech program in Food Technology.
• Candidates securing negative marks in JEE Main (Paper I) are not eligible to apply for the B. Tech programs.
• Appearing in JEE Main (Paper -I) is not a requirement for B.Tech in Food Technology.
• B. Tech Food Technology candidates are selected based on an entrance test conducted by the institute. The test comprises of MCQs based on Physics, Chemistry and Math/ Biology studied at 10+2 level.
• 02 seats in B.Tech Engineering (Lateral Entry) programs are reserved for the candidates who have passed their qualifying degrees from IUST.

IUST MBA Admission 2023

The Islamic University of Science & Technology offers a 2-year Regular MBA and MBA in International Business. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks in the last qualifying exam. Candidates with a valid CMAT score must fill the online application form available at the University’s official website. Candidates are selected based on CMAT score and performance in GD/ PI conducted by the University. • Selection of candidates for the MBA program is based on the following criteria:
  • 60% preference is given to CMAT score
  • 40% preference is given to GD and PI.
• In case of a tie in CMAT/ MAT score for MBA admissions, candidates having higher marks in GD/ PI will be given preference. If marks in CMAT/ MAT and marks in GD/ PI are the same, candidate older in age is given admission.
• Appearing in CMAT score is a pre-requisite for the MBA program, although not compulsory. Candidates without CMAT score must, however, partake in MAT conducted by IUST for selection purposes.

IUST M.Sc, MA And MCA Admission 2023

The Islamic University of Science & Technology offers M.Sc., MCA, and MA courses at the postgraduate level. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. The selection of candidates is based on their performance in the Entrance Exam for the respective courses conducted by the institute. Below mentioned is the total intake, eligible criteria, and selection criteria about these courses offered by the University:

• Graduates who have studied Mathematics at 10+2 level/ graduation are eligible to apply for the MCA program.
• Candidates who have studied Mathematics/ Statistics/ Applied or Actuarial Mathematics at 10+2 level and/ or graduation are eligible to apply for the M.Sc. Statistics program.
• Candidates holding Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology in Information Technology are eligible for the M.Sc. IT program.
• MA International Relations program has been specifically designed for Mid-career professionals such as lawyers, journalists, and NGO workers.
• A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the last qualifying exam is required to apply for the MA Arabic Language & Literature.
• Candidates with 55% or above marks are eligible to apply for the MA program in Islamic Studies.

IUST M.Tech Admission 2023

The university offers an M.Tech program in the discipline of Food Technology with an intake of 8 students. The basic eligibility criteria for is a B. Tech degree in Food Technology with a minimum of 50% marks in the subject. Selection in M.Tech is done through the entrance test conducted by the university. GATE qualified candidates can also apply for the M. Tech program and are exempted from the university entrance test. • Candidates aspiring admission to M.Tech Food Technology offered by IUST must appear for GATE before filling the application form at the university level.
• For admission to M. Tech Food Technology program, the candidate with higher marks in the Biology subject in graduation is given preference when there is a tie in the GATE/ Entrance exam marks.

IUST Ph.D. Admission 2023

The Islamic University of Science & Technology offers Ph.D. programs in 5 disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. The selection of candidates for the Ph.D. programs is done based on the applicants’ performance in the entrance test (conducted by the university) followed by a personal interview session. The intake for Ph.D. courses is determined as per the availability of seats/ supervisors in the Concerned Department/ School. Admission to the Ph.D. programs is conducted twice a year.

IUST 2023 Application Form

Candidates can apply for admission to a particular program only through online mode by visiting the University website. Candidates must also ensure his/her eligibility as per the criteria laid down for admission to a particular program. The application process in details is as follows:

• The Application Form is available on the IUST official Website of Islamic University of Science and Technology, Pulwama
• The candidate should Register with the Email Id and Password to fill the Application Form.
• Fill the Application Form with the Personal, Academic, Graduation, Documents Attachment, and Payment.
• Upload the recent colored Passport Size Photograph in the Application Form.
• Attach the required documents for the verification process to the Admission.
• Pay the Application Fees of Rs.1000/- for Indian and Rs.1500/- for NRI through Online using Debit/ Credit Card or Net Banking.
• The document should be attached for verification are as follows:
  • Academic/ Graduation Marksheet.
  • DOB Certificate.
  • Entrance Examination Scorecard.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • JEE Main (Paper-I)-2023 / CMAT/MAT /IUST MAT Score Card (if applicable)
  • Category Certificate issued by the concerned authorities (if applicable)
  • Provisional/ Character Certificate from the institute last attended
  • Certificate of Permanent Resident of J&K or J&K Origin (in case of NRI-sponsored candidate)

• The Passport Size Photograph should be 5KB-200KB in JPG, PNG of dimension (130x160)
• After the submission of the Application Form, a popup message will be shown regarding Name, Applicant No. and Form No.
• Note the Applicant No. and Form No. for future references.
• There are different Application Fees for NRI Students.
• If the candidates applying for more than one program, they should pay an additional fee of Rs. 100/- (per program) as Application Fee.
• Submit the hard copy of the Application Form along with the bank receipt of Pay-in-Slip and attested relevant documents in the respective department, IUST, Awantipora.
• The candidates are advised to collect the hard copy of the prospectus against the original pay-in-slip amounting to rupees not less than 1000/- in case of UG and PG Program and 300/- in case of Diploma Program.
• Use the Applicant No. to check the status of your form after 48 hours of your hardcopy form submission.

Additionally, the university offers a Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme for meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds pursuing various programs in Engineering & Technology, under the guidelines of AICTE. A maximum of 5% of the sanctioned intake per program has been made available for admission under this scheme.
