North Orissa University was established on 13 July 1998 under Section 32 of the Odisha University Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989), and is located in the city Baripada, Orissa. It is Public University, accredited by the UGC. North Odisha University has two campuses, the main campus is in Baripada the district and the second campus is at suleikhamar near Kendujhargarh in Kendujhar district. It is 250 km away from Kolkata and 260 km from the State capital Bhubaneswar. This university mainly provides higher education through on-campus as well as distance education modes. It aims to provide job-oriented technical courses.

North Orissa University offers one-semester Pre-Ph.D course work in Chemistry, Botany, Computer Science & IT, Biotechnology, Economics, Life Science, Physics, Santali and Zoology in the main campus at Baripada, Odia, Sanskrit at Suleikhamar, Keonjhar and Law in Mayurbhanj Law College at Baripada.

NOU Baripada Admission 2020 Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed Course

The university offers an integrated course for B.ED and M.Ed, the details of which can be checked below:

  • NOU offers three years (six semesters) Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed Course under self-financing mode in Baripada campus.
  • Applicants should have passed a Post Graduate Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (as per NCTE norms 2014).
  • from a recognized institution.
  • Intake of the course is 50 (25 from Science stream and 25 from Arts stream).

NOU Baripada Application Process

North Orissa University invites applications through open advertisement in Odia and English daily newspapers for admission into various PG /M. Phil /Integrated B.Ed-M.Ed/Pre-Ph.D courses. The candidates can follow the below steps to apply for their preferred course:

  1. Applicants can fill the form online and no other mode will be considered.
  2. To apply for the exam one has to visit the official website and then fill the form.
  3. Before proceeding to fill up the e-application form at www.nou.nic.in the candidate must read the procedure of e-admission-2020, application fee, eligibility criteria for admission into different courses, reservation and weightage guidelines and other relevant information.
  4. To fil, the form applicants will have to first register themselves by giving their name, name of the department and course, mobile number, e-mail ID, date of birth and the password.
  5. After registration, the applicant will receive the SMS and e-mail containing information on registration.
  6. To complete the form the candidates will have to login with the registered id and password.
  7. Lastly, will have to submit the fee through the available mode.
  8. The hard copy of the filled application form along with the necessary documents must be submitted to the office of the chairman, P.G. council.
  9. Candidate applying under Green passage scheme are exempted from paying online
    Application Fees as per the govt.
  10. Fee once paid will not be refunded in any circumstances.

    Personal (SDP) quota issued from the Rajya /Zilla Sainik Board and Children of Martyrs (CoM)
  • Copy of certificate of Kashmiri migrants
  • Copies of certificates of Sports and games participation to avail the reservation
  • Copy of certificate of participation NSS/NCC/Rover & Ranger 
  • Copy of the certificate to avail benefit under Green passage Scheme.

  • Relaxation will be given in cut-off percentage of up to 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement.
  • Domicile requirements shall be waived.
  • Migration in second and subsequent years shall be allowed based on the seat availability.
