UPES Dehradun Admission 2023

1. Programs Offered: UPES offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as Engineering, Computer Science, Law, Design, Business, Health Sciences, and more.
2. Admission Criteria: The university offers admission to undergraduate courses based on the UPESEAT score, followed by a central counseling process. For postgraduate courses, admission is based on national-level entrance exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, or UPESMET, followed by group discussion and personal interview rounds.
3. Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for different programs vary. For undergraduate courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in PCM. For postgraduate courses, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks.
4. Application Process: Candidates can apply for admission online by visiting the official website of UPES. The application fee for UPESEAT is Rs. 1350 for Indian nationals and Rs. 3500 for foreign nationals.
5. Important Dates: The UPESEAT 2023 exam is scheduled to be held in the second week of May 2023. The application process for the exam is expected to start in November 2022, and the last date to apply will be in April 2023. The dates for other entrance exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, or UPESMET may vary.

UPES MBA Admission 2023

UPES provides a two-year MBA programme with 15 different concentrations. To be admitted to this programme, candidates must pass the UPES Management Entrance Test (UPESMET). However, UPES also offers admission via the Non-Examination Pathway, which is based on a score in any national level entrance examination, such as the CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ CMAT/ NMAT/ NMAT or XAT.

The ultimate decision will be made based on the entrance exam score, which will be followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Candidates will be contacted for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview based on a valid score in any of the above-mentioned Entrance tests.

UPES Application Procedure 2023

• Candidates can apply by filing an online application form at the official website of the university or OMR form offline.
• Candidates will have to appear for the entrance examination conducted department-wise based on which selection will be made. Therefore, students must take a look at the examination schedule, syllabus and pattern.
• Submit all the necessary documents within time to be considered for the selection.

• Mark sheet and certificate of class 10 and 12 examinations.
• Documents to show completion of graduation if applicable.
• Programs in the school of design will require a work portfolio.
• Valid scores of any national level examination that the candidate has appeared for.
• Caste certificate will be required for SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently able category applicants to get relaxation in marks.
• A professional record of the candidate for programs if required.

UPES Distance Learning 

In the year 2007, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Centre for Continuing Education (UPES-CCE) was founded. Its goal is to provide working professionals with high-quality education. The institute offers remote learning programmes in a variety of specialisations, including BBA, MBA, PGP, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Certification.

Academic performance and work experience are used to determine admission. Admissions applications are accepted both online and in person.

UPES Dehradun Scholarship

UPES awards scholarships based on academic excellence and the Uttarakhand state board. The following is a list of UPES scholarships by programme.

Exclusive Scholarship for All-Girl Students

• All girls taking admission in any of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes will get a 25% tuition price scholarship.
• This scholarship is valid for the whole program's term.
• This scholarship must be renewed every year.
• The prior year's minimum attendance should not be less than 75%.
• There should be no disciplinary action or case against the student.

Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers

• One place per programme is available through a merit order.
• The 15 percent quota for Uttarakhand residents would apply to the seats reserved under this category.
  "Sthai Niwas Praman Patra" should be included (Permanent Residence Certificate)
• Students will only be eligible for one scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category)
• Scholarships will be awarded based on the University's merit scholarship programme in subsequent years.

Scholarships Amount: In their first year, boys receive a 25% tuition price waiver while girls receive a 35% tuition fee waiver.

B.Tech

Merit-Based Scholarship

• Students who score an aggregate of 80 percent in class X and XII and 80 percent in PCM for B.Tech (All Streams) in CBSE/ ICSE/ State Examination Board would be eligible for a scholarship. Scholarships will be limited to ten percent of each B.Tech program's seats. Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying candidates in Merit Order for the first semester.
• Scholarships will be provided only on the basis of merit.
• Scholarships will be renewed according to University policy in succeeding years.

BBA

Merit-Based scholarship

• In the first semester, CBSE, ICSE, and State board pass out students would receive a 50% tuition price discount on 10% of seats in each programme.
• In their first year, boys receive a 25% tuition price waiver while girls receive a 35% tuition fee waiver.
  Scholarships will be awarded based on the University's merit scholarship programme in subsequent years.
• Criteria for Eligibility: In the tenth and twelfth grades, 75 percent of the students received a passing grade.

• In the UK State Board, a minimum of 80% aggregate in Class 10th and 12th is required.
• Allotment of one place per programme to 150 toppers from the UK State Board Merit.
• The 15 percent reservation for Uttarakhand Domicile students would apply to the seats reserved under this category.
• "Sthai Niwas Praman Patra" should be included (Permanent Residence Certificate)
• Students will only be eligible for one scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Domicile category)

LLB

Merit-Based Scholarship

• Criteria for Eligibility: 75 percent in classes X and XII
• Scholarship: In the first semester, CBSE, ICSE, and State board pass out students would receive a 50% tuition price discount on 10% of seats in each programme.
• In their first year, boys receive a 25% tuition price waiver while girls receive a 35% tuition fee waiver.

• In the UK State Board, a minimum of 80 percent in each of the X, XII, and PCM classes is required for B.Tech, while an 80 percent aggregate is required for BBA and Law in Class X and XII.
• Allotment of one place per programme to 150 toppers from the UK State Board Merit.
• The seats allotted under this category will be among the 15% reserved seats for Uttarakhand residents.
• "Sthai Niwas Praman Patra" should be included (Permanent Residence Certificate)
• Students will only be eligible for one scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category)
• Scholarships will be awarded based on the University's merit scholarship programme in subsequent years.

MBA

Merit Based Scholarships

• A CAT/XAT score of at least 80% is required.
• A minimum 90 percentile score on the MAT, NMAT, UPESMET, or any equivalent National Level Entrance Exam is required.
• In the first semester, 10% of seats in each programme are available for a 25% tuition price remission.

Fellowship for M.Tech Students

• GATE SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarship of INR 12,400 per month for students with a GATE score of 70% or higher. 

  Students admitted to the M.Tech degree in the academic session 2020-21 who have a valid GATE score of 70% or higher will be considered for a scholarship of INR 12,400 per month throughout their registration term with the University. Students must have completed at least one semester to be eligible for the continuation scholarship in following semesters.

  In addition to maintaining regular attendance, discipline, outstanding behaviour, and conformity with all other rules as stipulated by the University from time to time, attained a minimum SGPA / CGPA of 8.0 in each semester and passed every semester examination on the first attempt.

  
  
• All students will be eligible for a research grant of up to INR 50,000 for outcome-based research, if they follow the rules and regulations set forth by the university.

Note: A student can only apply for one type of award; multiple scholarships will not be offered to the same individual.
