Meghalaya TET 2020  will be conducted by Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya. No new notification for Meghalaya TET exam is not yet out. It is also known as the MTET 2020. This exam is conducted for appointment of teachers in classes I to VIII. The test is organised once every year at the State Level. The Application form for MTET 2020 will be released in the month of November 2020. The candidates willing to appear in this exam and hence be appointed as a teacher must fill the application form on time. Meghalaya TET 2020 Application Form

Candidates can fill the MTET 2020 application from the first week of November 2020 on the official website of DERT(Directorate of Educational Research and Training). Candidates can check all the essential details regarding MTET application form in the given mentioned points:

  • Candidates firstly need to register themselves through online mode only.
  • Enter some basic information and generate their registration ID and password for further process.
  • After generating the ID candidates have to log in with ID and fill all the required details.
  • Upload scanned copy of recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • After form filling, candidates have to pay the fees through online mode.
  • Candidates must be careful while filling the online application form because of authority will not provide any facility of correction in the form.

Meghalaya TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check their MTET 2020 eligibility before fill application in the mentioned below points:

  • Candidates who wish to apply for examination must be an Indian citizen.
  • Candidates should not be older than 27 years and not younger than 18 years as on the 01 January 2020 and those candidates who belong to SC/ST category there is a 5 years relaxation.
  • Those candidates belong to OBC category, who are differently-abled there will be an age relaxation of 3 years
  • Candidates who have an academic or professional qualification.
  • Any candidate who is pursuing any of the teacher education course recognized by the NCTE or the RCI.
  • Eligibility condition for candidates appearing in TET  2020 may be relaxed in respect of a State/UT which has been granted relaxation under sub-section (2) of section 23 of the RTE Act. The relaxation will be specified in the notification issued by the Central Government under the Sub-section.

Educational Qualification

Classes I-V:
  •  Candidates must have qualified the 12th standard by scoring minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST). Along with 12th candidates should have passed the 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE. 
  • Candidates must have passed the 12th standard by scoring minimum 50% marks ( 45% marks for for SC / ST) with 4 years B.El.Ed. or
  •  By scoring minimum 50% marks (SC / ST minimum 45% marks) candidate should have qualified the 12th standard with a Diploma in Special Education.
Classes VI-VIII:
  • Candidates must have qualified the B.A / B. Sc by scoring at least 50% marks with 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE. or
  •  Candidates must have passed the B.A / B. Sc by scoring minimum 50% marks (for SC / ST minimum 45% marks) with 1 year B. Ed. or
  • Candidates must have passed the B.A / B. Sc standard by scoring minimum 50% marks (for SC / ST minimum 45% marks) with 4 years of Bachelor course in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). or
  •  By scoring minimum 50% marks (SC / ST minimum 45% marks) candidate should have qualified the B.A / B. Sc course with a Diploma in Special Education. or
  •  The candidates must have qualified the 12th standard by scoring 50% marks ( 45% with for SC / ST) with 4-Year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed./ B.Sc. Ed are also eligible

Directorate of Educational Research and Training(DERT)

In order to provide direction and thrust to School Education & Teacher Education the State Council of Educational Research was set up in Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI). In 1997 the Directorate of Public Instruction was trifurcated and SCERT became a fully-fledged Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) with its own Director. The main functions of this Directorate are to help bring about qualitative improvement in the field of School Education through quality Teacher Education Programmes, as the Government firmly believes that quality in school education greatly depends on the professional competence of teachers.

Its main role is to bring about qualitative improvement in Education, formal and non-formal, and Teacher Education which is necessary for the development of human resources needed for all-round development of the State. Its broad aims and objectives have been clearly stated by the Education Commission, Meghalaya (1976-77) as follows
