JIPMER offers admission in MBBS and BSc programme at UG level. Admission in MBBS programme is done based on NEET UG exam. Admission in BSc programme is based on JIPMER BSc entrance exam. Candidates who secured more marks than required cutoff can apply for MCC counselling where shortlisted candidates have to select JIPMER Pondicherry as their choice of the institute.
|MBBS||-||5½ Years||Only Indian Citizen can apply for admission. Candidates, age must be more than 17 years. The applicant must have passed in PCB and English with at least 50% marks (45% and 40% in case of SC/ST and PwD candidates respectively)|
|Allied Health Sciences||3 Years|
Candidates with marks more than or equal to the defined cutoff will have their names in the merit list. Medical Counselling Committee will release the Merit List based on ranks secured by applicants in the admission Test. MCC will declare the Merit list in online mode. Candidates who got selected for the JIPMER UG program have to report at the JIPMER and complete the further admission procedures.
If two or more candidates secured equal marks, then following tie-breaker will be used by the university for shortlisting candidates:
The candidates will be called for counselling based on his/her ranks in the merit list. Applicants who will accept the seat, have to pay the admission fees and then participate in the documents verification process conducted by university authorities.
The institute offers the following specializations under the discipline of B.Sc. Allied Health Sciences-
JIPMER, Puducherry offers admission in Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 19 specializations and Master of Surgery (MS) degree in 5 specializations. Along with MD and MS courses, the university offers admission in many other courses at PG level. It offers PG programs in MSc (Nursing), MPH and MSc (Allied Health Science). Admission in these courses is done based on candidate merit in JIPMER PG entrance exam. Candidates can check all the details related to admission in PG courses from the following table:

|Operation Room Nursing|
The institute offers PhD degree to the research scholars in eight medical specialisations. Admission in PhD Programs is based on the entrance exam conducted by the institute itself. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria to take admission in these courses.

Interested PhD aspirants must possess any one of the following qualifications:
MBBS or MD in the respective subject as per the requirement of the project or Diplomate of National Board of Examination.
Candidates with M.Sc. degree in Nursing Specialty i.e M.Sc. Medical-Surgical Nursing can also for admission.
Candidates holding B.Tech. Degree in the subject as per the requirement of the project will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category. NET qualified (Lectureship only) under DBT /DST/ ICMR / UGC are not eligible for admission.
|Preventive & Social Medicine|
The Selection for PhD course is purely based on the Written Examination followed by an interaction with the PhD Admission Committee.
Shortlisted candidates have to interact with PhD admission committee in order to assess his/her aptitude, attitude, area of interest and feasibility to carry out the work at the specific department in JIPMER.
Candidate need to fill the application form of respective entrance exam, in order to take admission in any course. The application forms for JIPMER entrance exam can be filled in online mode through the official registration portal.
The Candidates must submit the following certificates in original along with one set of selfattested copies.
