The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test(PSTET) is scheduled to be held on March 12, 2023. PSTET 2023 Final Answer Key will be released soon. However, the PSTET 2023 result has been delayed. Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) exam is conducted by the Punjab School Examination Board (PSEB). This is a state-level entrance exam annually. Only Indian Nationals fulfilling eligibility criteria can apply for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test. This exam is Officially being called PSTET Exam by the authority. Punjab PSTET 2023 Cancelled: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) who conducts the exam on Sunday announced that a re-exam will be held for all candidates.
On Monday, March 13, Punjab's Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, declared that the state-level teacher eligibility test (PSTET 2023), which was held on Sunday, March 12, has been annulled due to allegations of providing correct answers to multiple-choice questions on the question paper. He also stated that a investigation has been launched and individuals found responsible will be charged with criminal negligence.

PSTET 2023 Application Form

Punjab Board will release the PSTET 2023 registration form online on the official website. The candidate can refer to the below-given points to know more details. Candidates who want to become a part of this test all should submit their PSTET 20201Application Form before passing out the last date of submission of registration forms.

  • An applicant is advised to read the instruction carefully before filling the application form.
  • The candidate has to register himself as a new user.

PSTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must check the PSTET 2023 Eligibility before filling the application form.

Education Qualification for PSTET

For class 1-V:
  • Candidate must have cleared Senior Secondary 10+2 (or it's equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.    OR
  • Applicant must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.    OR
  • An aspirant must have passed Senior Secondary 10+2 (or it's equivalent) with a minimum of  50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).    OR 
  • They have passed Senior Secondary 10+2 (or it's equivalent) with a minimum of  50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.  OR
  • Candidate must have cleared graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
 For Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
  • Candidate must have cleared graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).   OR
  • They must have graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).      OR
  • They have graduated with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.    OR
  • They have cleared senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).   OR
  • Senior Secondary 10+2 (or it's equivalent) with a minimum of  50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.      OR
  • Passed the graduation with a minimum of  50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

There will be two papers of PSTET 2023.

  1. Paper-I will be for a teacher for classes I to V.
  2. Paper-II will be for a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: A candidate who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

PSTET 2023 Answer Key

The answer key is the list of all the right answers for the exam that will be considered while evaluating the answer sheets of the candidates.

  • Candidates will be able to download the PDF of PSTET Answer Key 2023 from the official website only. It can be used to estimate the marks scored in a particular exam.
  • To know the score, candidates must follow the marking scheme. For every right answer, allot 1 mark each & then add all to get the estimated score.
  • Candidates can also raise objections against the provisional answer key along with the submission of academic proof in support of it.
  • The final answer key is published after considering all the objections received by the board. No candidate is communicated about the acceptance or rejection of their objections.

About Punjab School Examination Board

The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November 1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. In 1987, the Vidhan Sabha amended the Board’s Act to grant it autonomy. The scope of the Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect/stage of school education. However, a brief account of functions, structure, and activities of the Board is enumerated as below:

Functions of the Board
  1. To make necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of public examination at the school level. At present, the Board conducts public examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary Level.
  2. To prescribe the curriculum, courses of studies, and textbooks for school education. The Board has a full-fledged academic wing, having subject experts in all the major subjects. The main responsibility of this wing is to prepare and revise the syllabuses regularly and then prepare textbooks accordingly.
