Educational Qualification

UPSC Combined Geoscientist and Geologist 2020 notification will be released on 21 March 2020 and its exam is going to be held on 29 June 2020. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts this exam and is responsible for the recruitment of Group A post of Geophysicist, Geologist and Chemist in the Geological Survey of the country and Junior Hydrologist for the central group Water Board.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam 2020

Every candidate has to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the application form. The candidate should come under or satisfy the eligibility criteria for the job. Below is given the eligibility criteria:

Nationality Criteria:

  • Hold the nationality of India. Or,
  • be a subject of Bhutan. Or,
  • be a subject of Nepal. Or,
  • be of Indian origin but migrated either from East African countries of Kenya, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam. Or,
  • Be among Tibetan refugees who came across the country in prior of the 1st January 1962 for permanent settling over here.

Age Criteria:

  • Age norms for Geologist and Geophysicist and Chemist (Group ‘A’) in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines: 4
  • Candidates’ date of birth should fall not before than 2nd January 1986 and not after than 1st January 1997.
  • Age norms for For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Groundwater Board, Ministry of Water Resources:
  • Candidates’ date of birth should fall not before than 2nd January 1983 and not after than 1st January 1997.

  • For Ex-servicemen category candidates: 5 Years
  • For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribal: 5 years

Chemists Group ‘A ‘: Educational norms for Chemists Group ‘A ‘ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should hold a recognized M.Sc degree in Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.

Geophysicists Group ‘A’: Educational norms for Geophysicists Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should hold a recognized M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc Physics or M.Sc (Geophysics) degree.

The application forms will be available from 25 April 2020 at the official UPSC website. Candidates are required to fill Part I&II of the application form by choosing them separately. The candidates are requested to provide a valid email address and phone numbers during the registration phase. Applicants will be required to fill all the necessary information and personal details in the application form. Educational Qualification Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from an Institute or university that is recognized by the Govt. Of India
Nationality A citizen of India (mandatory)
Age Limit Candidate’s age should lie between 20 to 25 years as on 1st August 2020. Candidate must have been not born earlier than 2nd August 1993 and not after 1st August 1998.
Gender Eligibility Male/Female both can apply for the posts of Assistant Commandant.
Medical The candidates must have to satisfy the medical standards set by the CAPF.

PART III: Personal Interview

Those who get shortlisted from the written examination followed by the medical test will be able to give the interview round. This round is supposed to test the character of the candidate. The candidates are selected on the basis of their personality and knowledge.

UPSC CAPF AC 2020 Admit Card

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct CAPF Assistant Commandants written the examination on 12th August 2020. There are total 398 vacancies which are said to be announced for Assistant Commandant posts in the department of BSF, CRPF, SSB and ITBP. UPSC should be releasing UPSC CAPF Admit Card 2020 before 10 to 15 days of examination. After downloading the admit card, the candidate is required to take a print out of the admit card. It is mandatory to take the hard copy of the admit card on the day of the examination. Candidates will be able to download the admit card in the month of July 2020.

UPSC CAPF AC 2020 Exams Result

The result will be announced in the month of September 2020. The result of the CAPF AC 2020 Exam will be published on official website of the UPSC. Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will pass through physical endurance test which will be followed by medical test. The final result will be announced accordingly on the official website.

UPSC CAPF AC 2020 Cut off

The cutoff for CAPF AC exam will be published after the result declaration. The Cut off score is the minimum marks which is mandatory to secure in any exam. The marks are accordingly decided by the commission official to shortlist the most deserving candidates. An applicant with fewer marks than the CAPF Cutoff 2020 will not get qualified for the next round. The UPSC board will upload the cut off marks for both Male & Female candidates. The UPSC CAPF cutoff Marks 2020 will be released only on the official website of the UPSC board. The cut off marks will be different for all the recruitment stages.

UPSC IESISSE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

A candidate must be:

  • a citizen of India; or
  • a subject of Nepal; or
  • a subject of Bhutan; or
  • a Tibetan who arrived in India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
  • all those candidates who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Indian origin would be considered as an individual of Indian origin.


Age Limit:

A candidate for admission to this exam must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 01st August 2020 i.e. The candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd August 1988 and not later than 01st August 1997.
The upper age-limit prescribed above will be relaxable:

  • If a candidate belongs to an SC/ST then the age of the candidate must not exceed 5 years.
  • In the case of candidate belonging to OBC category, to avail of reservation the candidate must not exceed 3 years.
  • Up to a maximum of 5 years if a candidate has ordinarily been living in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from the 01st January 1981 to the 31st December 1990.
  • Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country should not exceed 3 years.
  • Up to a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 01st August 2017.
  • In the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopedically disabled persons the age limit is up to a maximum of 10 years.

Educational Qualification:

For Indian Economic Service: A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have at least obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

For Indian Statistical Service: A candidate applying for the Indian Statistical Service should have graduated with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or must have a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or those institutions which declared to be deemed under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Govt. from time to time.

UPSC IESISSE 2020 Application Form

The eligible and interested candidates can fill the application form online from the official website. Applications, which are submitted after the mentioned deadline, will not be accepted by the authority under any circumstances. So, candidates should submit the application form on time.

Application Fee:

Fee of Rs.200/- must be paid by the candidates of General category either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash or by using Net Banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. Candidates are exempted from making payment of a fee if they fall or come under the category of SC/ST/PH/Female.

Exam Pattern

  • There will be six papers including General Economics-I, General English and General Studies, General Economics-II, Indian Economics and General Economics-III in an IES exam.
  • There will be six papers including General Studies and General English, Statics-I, II, III and IV, in an ISS exam.
  • Excluding General Studies and General English which will be of 100 marks, every paper will be of 200 marks.
  • Negative marking rule will be applicable. 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong entry.
  • The medium of the exam: English.

The interview is for testing the general and specialised knowledge and abilities of the candidate. The candidate will be expected to have taken an active interest not only in his/her subjects of academic study but also in events which are happening around him/her.

The technique of the interview is to reveal the candidate’s mental qualities and his/her grasp of problems and not that of a strict cross-examination.
