To apply for the HPTET Examination, candidates must have the above-mentioned educational qualifications and meet the age requirements. The following are some of the most prevalent eligibility conditions for taking the HPTET:

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Arts | Candidates must have a BA/ B.Com degree with at least 50% marks and have completed a one-year B.Ed or B.Ed (special education). Alternatively, candidates must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% and a four-year Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) |
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Medical | Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in their B.Sc (Medical) degree and have completed a 1-year B.Ed or B.Ed (special education). Alternatively, students must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc). (Medical Education). |
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Non-Medical. | Candidates must have a B.Sc (Non-Medical) degree with at least 50% marks and have completed a one-year B.Ed or B.Ed (special education). Alternatively, students must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc). (Non-Medical Education) |
Language Teacher (Hindi/ Punjabi/ Urdu) | Candidates must have a BA with Hindi, Punjabi, or Urdu as an elective subject and a two-year elementary education diploma or a one-year B.Ed/ B.Ed diploma (Special Education). Candidates must also have completed a one-year B.Ed. programme and an MA in Hindi/ Punjabi/ Urdu with a minimum of 50% from a recognized university. |
Shastri Teacher | Candidates must have completed Shastri with a minimum score of 50% from any Himachal Pradesh government-recognized organization. |
Junior Basic Training (JBT) | Candidates must have a JBT certificate from a recognized organization and have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50%. Or a two-year Elementary Education (Special Education) diploma, or a one-year Elementary Education diploma. |
The HPTET is administered by the Himachal Pradesh State Board of Secondary Education (HPBSE) once a year. The HP TET 2022 can be separated into two sections for applicants applying for teaching posts in grades one through five and those applying for teaching opportunities in grades six through eight.
