JoSAA 2022 Registration: Application Form, Dates, Process, Seat Allotment

JoSAA 2022 Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), will start soon. Applicants need to login to the portal with their JEE Main application number and JEE Main / Advanced Password to start filling decisions for registration, then seat allocation is performed followed by verification of documentation and fee remittance. JoSAA 2022 Registration

Candidates should remember that there is no fee for choices to be filled in. It should also be noted that even though they are eligible for JoSAA 2021 counselling across all three, i.e. JEE (Advanced), JEE Main Paper 1 and JEE Main Paper 2, only 1 of the options are allocated to them. Therefore, always complete the options according to priority. 

How to Apply for JoSAA 2022?

Candidates who qualify for the requirements/eligibility criteria can participate in the JoSAA 2022 Registration and Option Filling Procedure.

  • First, candidate needs to visit the official site of JoSAA.
  • Now, on the homepage, press the JoSAA 2022 Candidate Registration and Option Filling button. 
  • Applicants must log in using the information provided below to begin registration and fill in the range. 
    • JEE Main application number
    • Password: If registered for JEE (Advanced) 2022 then use JEE (Advanced) 2022 password. Otherwise use JEE(Main) 2022 password.
  • Log in as per / in order of preference to begin registration and fill out their choices. 

JoSAA 2022 Seat Allotment

The official body releases the results of the JoSAA 2022 seat allocation. It takes place in 7 rounds. The applicant may, however, either freeze, float or slide the seats allocated to them as per their preference. The "Provisional Seat Allocation Letter" and an e-challan for remittance of the seat acceptance fee need to be downloaded. They should remember that this fee is
later balanced against the fee for entry. Thereafter, for document authentication and fee payment, they must appear at the assigned location. 

What follows after the JoSAA Seat Allotment 2022 for students?

Candidates are allotted seats on the basis of their JEE Main/JEE Advanced merit, preferences, category and availability of seats. The allotted candidates have to download their provisional allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000. After the fee is paid, the candidates will have to verify their documents at the Reporting Centre (RC).

The allotted candidates will be able to select any of the following options according to their preference after the JoSAA seat allocation results 2022 are announced by the authorities:

  • Floating: If the candidates wish to accept the allotted seat but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher preferred institutes or courses, then they will have to select this option.
  • Freezing: Candidates will have to select this option if they are satisfied with their allotted seat and do not wish to participate in the further rounds of counselling.
  • Sliding: The candidates who choose this option will confirm their allotment but will also be open for admissions into a higher preferred course in the same institute.

After the document verification is completed, the candidates will have to report to their respective allotted institutes to confirm their admission. The required fee also has to be paid by the candidates.

JoSAA Cutoff 2022

The opening and closing ranks at which candidates will get admission to the participating institutes (IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc.) forms the JoSAA 2022 cutoff. The authorities will release the JoSAA 2022 cutoff after each allotment round.

Organizing Institute of JEE

The JEE Advanced exam is conducted each year by one of the top IITs, IIT Delhi being the one who previously conducted the exam. Not all IITs are involved in the act of performing the JEE Advanced test, it must be said. One of seven zonal IITs, that is to say, The exam is conducted annually by IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur and IIT Guwahati. Under the supervision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), the test is performed. 

JoSAA

JoSAA stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JoSAA was set up to oversee the allocation of seats for 111 institutions for the years 2022-23. by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This involves 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 30 other technical institutes sponsored by the government. It is responsible for assigning seats to applicants qualifying for JEE Main 2022 and JEE Advanced 2022 and wishing to be admitted to IITs, NITs, GFTIs or IITs. The goal of JoSAA is to complete the alumni admission process.
