Karnataka DCET 2024 Syllabus will soon be released by the authorities. The Karnataka Examinations Authority will soon announce the DCET 2024 syllabus online (KEA). Through the DCET syllabus 2024, candidates will be able to see what courses and topics they will need to study for the exam. Candidates will be able to improve their exam preparation by looking over the DCET syllabus. The DCET 2024 programme will include courses from mathematics and applied science. Matrices and Determinants: Basic concepts of Matrices(Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication), Determinants

Unit 2

Vectors: Magnitude of a vector, Position vector, Expression of vector in terms of position vectors

Unit 3

Probability: Random experiments, sample space, events, types of events, Algebra of events, complimentary event and so on

Unit 4

Trigonometry: Signs of Trigonometric ratios, Trigonometric ratios of Allied Angles in terms of θ

Unit 5

Complex numbers: Definition of a complex number. Conjugate of a complex number

Unit 6

Limits: Evaluation of limit of functions by factorization, rationalization, limits 

Unit 7

Straight Lines: Problems on different forms of equations of straight lines 

Unit 8

Differentiation: Problems on the function of a function and inverse trigonometric functions

Applications of Differentiation

Unit 10

Integral Calculus: Rules of integration and problems

Definite Integrals: Simple problems on definite integrals. Problems on applications of definite integrals such as area and volume. 

 Unit 12  Differential Equations: Formation of differential equation by eliminating arbitrary constants up to second order

Unit 1:

Mechanics 

  • Unit , types of units, SI unit- Basic and Supplementary units, advantages 
  • Measuring instruments: Vernier callipers-principle and least count
  • Scalars and vectors: scalar and vector with an example, resultant, equilibrium, equilibrant
  • Parallel forces: Types of parallel forces, a moment of force, couple, a moment of the couple ,simple problems on moment of force.

Unit 2: Properties of Solids and Liquids

  • Properties of solids: Deforming force, elasticity and plasticity with examples
  • Properties of Liquids:  Thrust and pressure, the expression for pressure at a point inside the liquid at rest-simple problems.
  • Surface tension:  Cohesive and Adhesive forces with examples
  • Viscosity: Expression for co-efficient of viscosity

Unit 3: Heat and Properties of Gases

  • Concept of Heat and Temperature: Specific Heat of substance
  • Transmission of Heat: Conduction, convection and radiation with example
  • Gas Laws: Boyle’s law, Charle’s law and Gay-Lussac’s law with example

Unit 4: Wave Motion

  • Simple Harmonic Motion: Periodic motion with example
  • Wave: Wave motion, wave period, wave frequency, wave amplitude, wave length and wave velocity etc.
  • Propagation of sound waves in air: Newton - Laplace’s formula for the velocity of sound in air and various factors affecting the velocity of sound in air.
  • Vibrations: Free vibration, forced vibration and resonance with example
  • Stationary waves: Stationary waves and its characteristics

  • Electromagnetic waves: Electromagnetic waves and their properties
  • Laser: Properties of  laser and its applications

Karnataka DCET 2024 Exam Pattern

The Karnataka DCET 2024 test pattern is incredibly useful for candidates who are taking the exam. Get more information by clicking on the links below:
  • The exam will take place in a single sitting.
  • The maximum score will be 180.
  • The candidate must complete the paper within three hours.
  • In addition, the candidate will be given an additional 25 minutes to fill out personal information in both the question booklet and the response sheet.
  • Multiple-choice questions will be included in the paper.
  • There will be no negative marking and the applicant will receive one mark for each correct answer.
