IIST ADMISSION Basic Information

The application form for the admission to the UG and PG courses will be released soon. Candidates will enrol by filling out the online application form themselves. If the information relating to the applicant is null or wrong the candidate will be disqualified and he/she will not be able to engage in any further process. Therefore, the applicant must fill in the correct and accurate details in the application form.

Candidates who want admission to IIST have to go through certain eligibility criteria before applying for the IIST 2023 Admission that is mentioned below.

EWS/ OBC-NCL | Candidate must have min 18 per cent marks in aggregate and at least 4.5% marks in three subjects each (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) |

IIST will prepare a category wise rank list. The list of ranks will be drawn upon the basis of the aggregate marks earned by the applicant in the 2023 JEE (Advanced). If the same aggregate marks are scored by more than one candidate, tie-breaking conditions will be followed.
The dispute between candidates securing the same aggregate marks will be resolved by applying the procedure indicated in the descending order one at a time below.
IIST will release the IIST Cut Off for 2023 admission to undergraduate, post-graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral programs. The cut-offs will be based on the ranking list and the basis of the candidate's categories. Candidates should review the cutoffs on the IIST official website following the publication of the cutoffs.
Candidates whose names appear in the IIST Admission Rank List, at the time of registration, fill in their branch collection in order of choice for the Undergraduate and Dual Degree programs. Without branch choice, registration WILL NOT be complete.

Candidates belonging to the following groups are admitted to reserved seats based on relaxed criteria, as per the reservation policy of the Government of India applicable to Central Educational Institutions (CEI). The groups and the corresponding reservation percentage are

The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, located in Valiamala, Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a government-aided institute and a university for the study and research of space science. It is the first university in Asia to be devoted exclusively to Outer Space studies and research. The Institute is the first of its kind in the country to provide high-quality education in the fields of space science, space technology, and space applications at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral levels. The founding fathers of the Institute, Dr G Madhavan Nair and Dr B. N. Suresh, who was the first Director of the IIST, both played a very important role in the establishment of the Institute, promoting its development and contributing to its vision. From the inception of the idea to its realization in a permanent campus near Thiruvananthapuram in 2010, Dr B.N. Suresh piloted the college.
