JEE Main 2020 Result (Announced) : Cut Off, Process to Download

JEE Main 2020 Result has been announced on 11 September 2020 by National Testing Agency which was held on 01-06 September 2020. JEE Main 2020 AIR (all India rank) will also be released along with the result. Candidates can check their score by entering their application number, date of birth and security pin. Those who will qualify the Joint Entrance Examination 2020 will get the admission into B.Tech, B.E, B.Plan, B.Arch programmes. There are 31 NIT's, 25 IIIT's, 28 CFTI's, in which qualified candidates will get the admission. However, NTA will also release category wise cut off to clear candidates to appear in JEE Advance. JEE Main 2020 Result

JEE Main rank list for all the candidates will be released now, for all the test takers. The result will be declared on the basis of the final answer key disclosed by NTA. The details regarding JEE Main Result 2020 discussed below:
For B.E./B.Tech Result
  • NTA Jee Main 2020 April Session Result for B.E./B.Tech is to be released soon on 10 or 11 September 2020.
  • The NTA score will be calculated corresponding to the actual marks secured by the applicants.
  • The scores will be calculated on the basis of three subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
For B.Arch & B.Planning
  • NTA Jee Main 2020 April session result for B.Arch & B.Planning is to be released soon.
  • The NTA score will be calculated corresponding to the actual marks secured by the applicants.
  • The scores will be calculated on the basis of three subjects  (Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test/Planning Based Test).

Important Details regarding JEE Main 2020 Result

  • All institutes which do not use the Centralised Seat Allocation Process will prepare their ranking on the basis of performance in the JEE (Main)-2020 & other criteria as decided by them.
  • To get admission into NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs/others through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)/Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) only the All India Rank is used.
  • The applicants are advised to download the scorecard from the JEE (Main) website.
  • No scorecard will be dispatched to the applicants.
  • The All India Rank is compiled and declared after conduct of JEE Main Examination.

How to Download the JEE Main 2020 Result?

Candidates can follow the below-given steps to download the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains Result:

  • Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official website of JEE Main or NTA. Click here>JEE Main Result 2020
  • Step 2: Click on the "View Result/Score Card" link provided there.
  • Step 3: Now, enter the application number, date of birth and security pin required for downloading the result.
  • Step 4: Click on the "Submit" button.
  • Step 5: After clicking on the submit button, the IIT-JEE result will appear on the screen.
  • Step 6: In the last step, candidates can download their JEE Main scorecard and take the printout of the same for future reference.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website if you forgot JEE Main application number.

  • Step 3: Next, tap on the “get application number” button to submit the details and then your application number will appear on the screen.

NTA score for Paper-I (B.E / B.Tech) and / or Paper-II (B.Arch / B.Planning):

  • NTA score in Jan physics, chemistry, maths.
  • NTA score in Apr / Sep physics, chemistry, maths.
  • Final NTA score (based on best of the two in total).

Those who appeared for UG architecture/planning exam.

How to Calcuate JEE Main 2020 Percentile?

The result for JEE Main 2020 is prepared by applying the method of normalisation since the exam is conducted on different dates and time. To make sure that no one is either no aspirants at disadvantage, NTA will rank the candidates based on the percentile score obtained in the entrance exam. The percentile score is obtained based on the relative performance of all the aspirants appearing in the exam. The topper in each session will get the same Percentile of 100 which is desirable. After which the highest and lowest scores are also converted to appropriate Percentiles. It is calculated by using the following formula:

100 x Number of candidates appeared in the ‘session’ with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate / Total number of the candidates appeared in the ‘session’

Method of Resolving Ties in JEE Main 2020

The will go through the following procedure NTA re to resolve the ties of scores of the candidates:
For B. Arch 
The tie between applicants obtaining equal total NTA scores in B.Arch will be resolved in the following descending order:
  • NTA score in Mathematics
  • NTA score in Aptitude Test
  • NTA score in Drawing Test
  • Candidates having a lesser number of negative responses in the paper. 
  • The applicant is older in age.
For B.Planning 

The tie between candidates obtaining equal total NTA scores in B.Planning will be resolved in the following descending order:

  • NTA score in Mathematics
  • NTA score in Aptitude Test
  • NTA score in Planning Based Questions
  • Candidates having a lesser number of negative responses in the paper.
  • Candidates older in age

JEE Main 2020 Counselling

Once NTA declares JEE Mains result, a cut off score for JEE Advanced 2020 category-wise is released. Students can apply for admission in various private colleges for admission in B.Tech programmes. After this, JEE Advanced is conducted by the respective conducting body. Those who qualify JEE Advanced will be then eligible to participate in JoSAA 2020 which conducts counselling joint seat allocation process for admissions to 100 institutes including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Other GFTIs.
