NIT Nagaland admits students to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD programmes based on their performance in the college's entrance exams, which include the JEE Main, GATE, JAM, GATE/NET/Written Examination. Candidates will be allotted seats in B.Tech programmes based on the National Level Counseling conducted by JoSSA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority), seats in M.Tech programmes will be allotted based on the CCMT (a centralized counselling process), and seats in M.Sc programmes will be allotted based on the CCMN (a centralized counselling process) ( a national level counselling process). Admission to the Ph. D programme will be based on their success in the written test as well as a personal interview.
