Odisha Nursing Admissions 2023 admission process will be conducted by the Directorate of Nursing Odisha. The candidates will be enrolled in ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery), Basic B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and M.Sc Nursing courses in all the INC recognized Government and Private A.N.M. training centers in Odisha State. It is conducted at the state level annually. Furthermore, the allotment of seats will be done based on the merit list. Below are some steps involved in filling in the Odisha Nursing Admissions 2023 Application form:

  • The application form will be available on the Director of Nursing Odisha official website of the conducting body
  • Candidates can visit the official website of B.Sc Nursing Odisha and can apply online.
  • Candidates can also purchase application forms from the nearest centers i.e. CSC (Common Service Centre) at Gram Panchayat level/Community Health Centre (CHC) at Block level/CDM& PHO office at District level.
  • Candidates can download the B.Sc Nursing Odisha 2023 application form from the official website.
  • Applicants are required to do the registration before applying for the application form.
  • A valid email-id and password should be provided for the registration.
  • After successful registration, an application form will appear on the screen.
  • Candidates have to fill in all the required information in the application form.
  • All the details should be filled in very carefully.
  • After filling the application form candidates have to upload the required documents.
  • All the documents should be of the prescribed size and format.

Payment through online mode-
  • Candidate can pay the application fee online through various options given below:

  • The candidate may choose the best-suited option.
Payment through offline mode-
  • Candidates can choose other payment modes also i.e.(SBI Branch or NEFT / RTGS or UPI).
  • In case of payment is to be made by choosing SBI Branch or NEFT / RTGS option, the candidate has to generate a  Challan, print the same, and visit any SBI Branch/non-SBI Bank branch respectively to pay.
  • In case of payment is to be made through NEFT candidate has to ensure to deposit the application fee at any nonSBI Bank branch on or before the last date otherwise your candidature will be rejected. 

Odisha Nursing Admissions 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Below is some eligibility of various course for the Odisha Nursing 2023 Admissions exam, the candidate must check before applying for the exam:

Age Limit: Candidates must have a minimum of 17 years of age.
Education Qualification:
For ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery)
  •  Candidate must have passed 10+2 from CHSE Odisha or equivalent.
    OR
    Candidates who have qualified in 10+2 Exams conducted by the National Institute of Open School, (equivalent to CHSE Odisha) are also eligible.
  • ASHA having a 10+2 pass is eligible to apply for the ANM course.
  • Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. school of Nursing and 85% Govt quota seats in private nursing institutions recognized by ONMRC.
  • Applicants who are Physically handicapped having a locomotor disability of lower limbs from 40% to 50% only will be taken into consideration. Candidates are required to obtain their handicapped certificate from the competent authority of the concerned district.
  • Candidates who have more than 50% lower locomotory disability will not be eligible and candidates having any other disability will only be eligible after the production of a genuine medical board certificate ( i.e. the Medical Board certifying that the applicant is eligible for perusing the Nursing Course).
For GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)
  • The candidates should have passed 10+2 with 40% marks from CHSE Odisha or an equivalent thereof, However, science is preferable.
    Or
    10 +2/12th with at least 40% marks from state open schools recognized by state Govt. and National Institute of Open School recognized by Central Government.
    Or
    10+2 vocational ANM course with at least 40% marks from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
    Or
    10 +2 Health Science vocational stream from a recognized CBSE board/ State or Center.
    Or
    Registered from ANM with 10+2 pass.
  • 5% of the total mark is relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ST.
  • ASHA having a 10+2 pass with at least 40% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates ) is eligible for applying for the GNM course.
For Basic B.Sc Nursing
  • Applicant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) from CHSE, Odisha, or any other Board or Council or University equivalent thereof.
  • Candidates who passed from the 10+2 examination in Science (physics, chemistry & Biology) conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 45% marks are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must have passed in the subject of PCB & English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45%markstakentogetherinPCBatthequalifyingexaminationi.e.(10+2). For candidates who belong to SC/ST, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 45 % as stated above. English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admissions to B.Sc. Nursing Course.
  •  Applicant must have passed minimum M.E. standard Odia for all Govt. Nursing Institutions and 85% Govt. quota seats in private Nursing Institutions recognized by ONMRC.
  • Candidate must be a domicile / permanent resident/native of Odisha but currently residing outside Odisha( for all Govt. school of Nursing and 85% Govt quota seats in private nursing institutions recognized by ONMRC)
  • Both female and male candidates (only 10% reservation for male candidates out of total seats) are eligible to apply.
  • Physically handicapped candidates having a locomotor disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% only will be taken into consideration. 
For Post Basic Nursing
  • The candidate must be domicile/permanent resident/ native of Odisha (for All seats in Govt. College of Nursing, & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private institutions)
  • The candidate must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of ONMRC or equivalent to any other state nursing council.
  • The minimum educational requirements will be the passing of the General Nursing & Midwifery examination conducted by ON&MEB Odisha or equivalent.
  • In case candidates have registered their name in other State Nursing Council, they will be allowed to participate in the state selection process and after admission, the selected candidates will have to get registered under ONMRC and submit their reciprocal registration certificate at the respective college within two months from the last date of admission.
  • The candidate must be medically fit for the course.
  • Candidate must obtain a “No objection Certificate” from the appointing Authority /Competent Authority to undergo the course (for in-service candidates working in Govt./ Public sector undertaking /private sector). NOC must be submitted at the time of applying for the course.
  • The candidate should note that without NOC the Application will be rejected.
  • Must have passed minimum M.E standard Odia. (Only for Govt. Institutions & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private Institutions.)
  • Both Male & Female candidates are eligible to apply.
For M.Sc Nursing
  • The candidate must be Domicile/permanent resident/ native of Odisha (for All seats in Govt. College of Nursing, & 85% Govt. quota seats in Private institutions)
  • The candidate must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of ONMRC or equivalent of any other state nursing council.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be BSc Nursing / Post Basic BSc Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from the institution recognized by the INC/ONMRC.
  • In case an applicant has registered his/her name in another State Nursing Council, he will be allowed to participate in the state selection process and after admission, the selected candidates have to get registered under ONMRC and submit their reciprocal registration certificate at the respective college within two months from the last date of admission.
  • In case the selected candidate fails to produce the reciprocal registration certificate within the stipulated period, failing which the necessary action will be taken by the State Selection Committee, Odisha.
  • Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or one-year work experience before or after post-Basic B.sc. nursing.
  • One year of “Work experience” either in the teaching or clinical field will be taken into consideration.
  • A certain criterion is to be considered for work experience.

Odisha Nursing Admission 2023 Admit Card

Authority will release the Odisha Nursing Admission 2023 admit card for Post Basic BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing 2023 entrance exam on the official website. Hall ticket will contain details like name of the candidate, exam center allotted, roll number, Hall number, seat number, etc.

  • A color passport-size photograph should be self-attested by the candidate and is to be pasted in the space provided in the Odisha Nursing 2023 Admit card.

Odisha Nursing Admission 2023 Result

Authority will release the Odisha Nursing Result 2023 on the official website. Candidates can check the result on the website only. No other medium will be used for the result declaration. The result will be announced as the Odisha Nursing allotment list in which candidates can check their application number, name, category, gender, 10th marks, 12th marks, total percentage, etc. The Odisha Nursing result for B.Sc and M.Sc course will be announced for all the candidates who appear for the entrance exam, whereas, the final merit list for B.Sc Nursing is prepared based on HSCE marks. Only qualified candidates will be called for the counseling/admission process.

Odisha Nursing Admissions 2023 Merit List

Odisha Nursing Admission 2023 Merit list will be prepared according to the courses. Authority will release the merit list on the official website of the university for the candidate. Candidates need to open the authorized website of the university to go through the merit list. Candidates must download the merit list from the official website of the university.

Merit list for B.SC Nursing will be as follows:
  • The merit list will be prepared based on career marks.
  • For career marks 50% of the aggregate marks in 10th and 12th secured in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCB).
Merit List for Post B.sc Nursing & M.sc Nursing

Merit lists will be prepared based on the marks secured in the entrance examination. The merit list will be prepared separately for the following category.

  • SC
  • ST
  • Physically handicapped.
  • Green card holder
  • Ex-Serviceman
  • Unreserved

Tie-Breaking Rule

 In case of more than one candidate having equal marks then merit will be prepared according to the following criteria.

For Basic Nursing

Preference will be given according to the:

  • Total marks secured in Biology at the qualifying Examination
  • English marks in the 10+2 exam.
  • Candidate older in age.
For Post Basic Nursing 

Preference will be given according to the:

  • Candidates obtaining higher aggregate marks in the GNM Examinations.
  • Candidate older in age.
For M.Sc Nursing

Preference will be given according to the:

  • Candidates obtaining a higher percentage of marks in the Basic B.Sc Nursing / Post
    Basic B.Sc Nursing Examinations.
  • Candidate older in age.
