SASTRA B.Tech Admission 2027 Counselling Process

The selected candidates can check hearby complete counselling process of SASTRA University:

Admissions to this University for the various B.Tech programs will be conducted under 2 streams. Every candidate will be eligible for both the streams and need to submit separate application forms for this purpose. Every candidate’s Application form will be considered for both the streams which are:

1. JEE Main 2020 scores and +2 aggregate marks (70% seats)
2. +2 marks only (30% seats)

Candidates under this stream will be admitted to 70% of the seats of the University based on their JEE Main (2020) scores and their normalized +2 marks. The weightage for +2  aggregate marks and JEE Main scores are 75% and 25% respectively.

The aggregate of the two shall be taken together as per the respective weightage and the merit list will be made based on the resultant combined score. For example.- If a candidate scores 185 in JEE Main and gets an aggregate of 95% in his/her +2 examination, the combined score will be (0.25*185) + (0.75*95) = 117.5. This combined score of the candidates will be used to determine their  SASTRA rank and the admissions will be based on that.

For candidates under this stream, admission will be done based on their normalized aggregate of +2 examination or its equivalent marks, for the remaining 30% seats of the University. In order to bring the candidates from several different examining boards/ authorities on the same scale as a comparison, the marks will be normalized first.

Candidates can attend the counselling for Stream 2 even if they are admitted through Stream 1 and they can change Branch later if they want to.

SASTRA B.Tech Admission 2027 Seat Allotment

Candidates must get themselves Registered for the Counselling process. SASTRA University B.Tech counselling will be conducted in an offline mode for Registered candidates.

• During Registration, process candidates will have to choose for their preferred course. The preferred course will be allotted to candidates on the basis of scores and the availability of seats in the selected course.  After seat allotment Candidate must pay the admission fee to confirm the allotted seats.
• First rank holding student from each Board will be considered as 100% and the aggregate marks of all the other candidates from that board will be normalized accordingly. For example.- If the first rank is 97% and an applicant’s aggregate marks are 90% then the normalised percentage will be  92.78 (90/97 X 100). A merit list will then be made based on these ranks according to the normalised marks of the applicants.
