CA IPCC Eligibility Criteria 2022: Check Who All Can Apply

Updated On - January 24 2022 by Divyansh K

CA IPCC Eligibility Criteria 2022: Students must register for IPCC Registration to be able to take the IPCC Level after passing the CPT Exams. Only about 30% of students who take CPT pass the exam, according to ICAI's CPT Results. Graduates with a grade point average of at least 55 percent are excluded from taking the CPT and can instead enrol for the IPCC Exams. Graduates may be exempt from CPT.

CA IPCC Eligibility Criteria 2022

The CA IPCC eligibility criteria are set forth by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). To avoid future discrepancies, candidates who want to fill out the application form should confirm their eligibility before registering. The eligibility criteria specify the minimum set of conditions that students must meet before registering, including age, educational qualifications, and qualifying marks. The ICAI conducts the CA IPCC test twice a year.

Before beginning the registration procedure, candidates must check that they meet the ICAI's qualifying requirements. The CA IPCC eligibility criteria 2022 includes information on academic qualifications, minimum qualifying marks required, and age limit. The basic conditions that candidates must complete before filling out the CA IPCC 2022 application form are listed below.

Let us take a closer look at the ICAI's CA IPCC eligibility criteria:

Time Duration and Registration: As stated in the table above, candidates must register on or before November 1, 2022, for the exam to be held in May/July session. The registration deadline for November/December 2022 exams is March 1, 2023.
Age Limit: Candidates of any age can apply for the CA IPCC course. There is no upper age limit.
Educational Requirements: The following students are eligible to sit for the CA IPCC exam:
  • Candidates who have completed the CA Foundation test are eligible to enrol in any of the CA IPCC exam groups (s).
  • Candidates who have previously passed the Foundation exam, Professional education (examination-I), or Common Proficiency Test (CPT) are also eligible to take the CA IPCC exam.
  • Candidates who are commerce graduates/postgraduates with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks are also eligible to apply for the CA IPCC course.
  • Candidates who are graduates/postgraduates in any other stream (other than commerce) and have a minimum of 60% in aggregate are also eligible to register.
  • Candidates in their last year of their bachelor's degree programme are also allowed to register for the CA IPCC course on a temporary basis. Such applicants must present proof of passing within six months of appearing in final year exams.

After 8 months of submitting the IPCC Registration Form, a student may sit for the CA IPCC Exams (earlier the duration was 9 Months but was reduced to 8 Months on 30th Jan 2012 by ICAI) Although the IPCC Registration Forms are accepted by ICAI all year, the IPCC Exams are only held twice a year, in the months of May and November.

 IPCC Registration after Completing Graduation

Students entering the CA Curriculum after graduation are excused from taking the CPT and can instead enrol in the IPCC. Students who entered the CA Curriculum directly after graduation through the Direct Entry Scheme can begin their Articleship without taking the CA Inter Exams. Candidates who joined the CA after graduation must first complete 9 months of articleship before being able to take the CA Inter Exams.
