Exam Date | January 2023 |
Result Date | March 2023 |

Following are the factors that affect determining the CEED 2023 Cut off:
CEED 2020 paper A will be of the following manner:
The candidates will have to score the minimum percentage specified for their respective categories to qualify for part B. The cutoff for various categories will be calculated in the following manner given in the table:
Categories | Cutoff marks for Open category | Cutoff marks for OBC-NCL category | Cutoff marks for ST, SC, PWD category |
CEED cutoff 2021 | X + ½ Σ, where X is the average marks scored by the candidate in Part A and Σ is the standard deviation | The cutoff for shortlisting candidates who fall under the OBC-NCL category candidates will be 90% of the open category. | The cutoff for shortlisting candidates under SC, ST, PWD categories will be 50% of the open category. |
Candidates must score equal to or more than the given below minimum marks in Part A to be shortlisted for part B.
Part B will consist of eight questions of 100 marks. Questions 1 to 5 are allotted 40 marks each, and candidates will be given an option to attempt any of these questions. A normalized score ‘S’ will be calculated by using the following formula:
S = {(m − μi) Σ / σi} + A, wherein
m= is the raw marks obtained in question i
μi = the average of the raw marks obtained by all candidates who opted for the question i
σi = the standard deviation of the raw marks secured by all candidates who answered the question i
A = 20 and Σ = 5 the average and the standard deviation, respectively, of the distribution of scores ‘S’. If the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidate is below 0, all such scores will be capped at 0, and if the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidate is above 40, all such scores will be capped at 40.
Marks obtained by the candidate in other questions in part B will be added to ‘S’ for securing the part B score.
The cut off may vary every year for IIITs and IITs to IISC Bangalore. It can also be a varied program to program.
