HPCET 2023 Exam Pattern Insights: Marking Scheme, Subjects, Exam Day Guidelines

HPCET 2023 Exam Pattern is included in the HPCET information bulletin, candidates should check the paper pattern to take admission in various courses offered by HPTU. The paper pattern for the entrance test is different for all the disciplines of technical, Pharma, Management and computer application. The Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test Exam Pattern will be published by HPTU, Hamirpur. The subject wise paper scheme is given below.
HPCET 2023 Paper Pattern
HPCET 2023 paper pattern is different for different courses but there are certain common characteristics in all the papers that are:
- HPCET Exam pattern 2023 will be based on offline, (pen and paper-based) mode.
- The questions that are asked are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question will be having a choice of 4 options with one correct answer.
- For each correct answer, the candidate will get 2 marks and there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
- It is advised for the candidate to skip a question but not attempt a multiple choice for a question.
Apart from these common characteristics, the various combinations of subject and number of questions for each course are given below:
- Tech/ B.Pharma/ B.Pharma (Ayurved): (3 HOURS)

Note: According to HPCET 2023 paper pattern for B.Tech/ B.Pharma, the candidate must attempt Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and for B.Pharma or B.Pharma (Ayurveda) candidate must attempt Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Note The candidate who is aspiring to take admission in M.Tech. program of HPTU by following HPTU 2023 paper pattern must apply for the discipline in which he/she is having the qualifying degree.
