JKCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Age, Education, Other Mandatory Requirements for Applicants

The JKCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria is defined by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JK-BOPEE). This is for all applicants interested in attending one of the six participating institutes. The JKCET Eligibility Criteria provides thorough information on minimal requirements such as academic qualifications and residency requirements. All candidates must carefully review the JKCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria. Furthermore, all applicants must meet all of the established criteria before applying for and taking the exam.

JKCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Any applicant for the JKCET 2023 must be a resident of Jammu and Kashmir or the Ladakh region. To be qualified for the exam, the candidate must have a basic academic qualification of 10+2 or equivalent certification. A minimum of 50% in the same is required, but in the event of a member of the SC/ ST/ OBC community, the applicant is eligible for a 10% score exemption. The exact eligibility criteria for the JKCET Exam are listed below:
  • Nationality: Applicants must be permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh, depending on the case. JKCET does not accept applications from international students.
  • Age Criteria: To be eligible to take the JKCET Exam, each applicant must have reached 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2023. According to the JKCET Eligibility Criteria, aspirants appearing for the exam have no upper age limit.
  • Number of tries: A candidate can take the JKCET as many times as he or she wants as long as they are under the age limit set by the conducting authority.
  • Educational Qualification: To be eligible to sit the JKCET Exam, a test-taker must have completed 10+2 years of schooling.
  • Subjects: All exam takers must have finished 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as subjects. To be eligible for JKCET, he or she must have completed it from a recognised Board or University of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Grades: A student in the general category must have received a minimum of 50% in English, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics. BOPEE has established this as the JKCET eligibility requirement.
  • Reservation Category: SC and ST candidates must have received a minimum of 40% in the same subjects to be eligible for reservation.
Note: After determining that an aspirant meets the outlined eligibility requirements, he or she can submit an application using the JKCET 2023 Application Form. As students, the documents you post must be legitimate.

JKCET 2023 Reservations

Certificates: Applicants applying for admission under the JKCET reservation programme must upload an authenticated copy of a valid reserved category certificate. Only then will they meet the JKCET Exam eligibility requirements.

Seat allocation: Aspirants will be assigned seats from the central pool based on their merit. As a result, students with higher grades have a better chance of getting into their preferred college. Only candidates who have passed the JKCET will be considered for seat allocation.

Candidates must provide an affidavit stating that no other member of their family has benefited from this category. For aspirants seeking JKCET admission through the Central Pool, this is essential.

Note: If a candidate fails to upload certificates during the JKCET application process or if a certificate is discovered to be incorrect, they will be considered an Open Merit Candidate for the JKCET admission process.
