The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) application form will be released in online mode. Candidates who are aspiring to pursue a career in teaching must fill the online application form of WB TET from the official website. Before filling the WB TET application, the candidates must check the eligibility criteria and instructions. The process of the application form will be completed only after the successful payment of the application fees. All the details in the form like personal information, educational qualification, contact details, etc have to be correct. Once the application form is submitted, the candidates must save a copy of it for any future references. 

How to Apply for WB TET 2023?

The application form will be available online mode. Candidates can check the steps given below to apply online for the WB TET exam:
  • Initially, the candidates must visit the official website of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, wbbpe.org
  • In the Notifications section, you can check the link for New User registration. Complete the registration process by entering all the details.
  • Now, log in using the user ID and password. Click on the submit button and the application form portal will open on the screen.
  • In the next step, candidates can start filling in all the mandatory details in the application form.
  • Further, the applicants have to attach the photo and signature. Also, you have to upload the scanned copies of the certificates/ documents, in case if required.
  • After entering all the details, preview the application form.
  • Then, the candidates must click on the link to pay the application fees. The mode of the payment of fees is through online Debit/ Credit/ Net Banking or other UPI methods.
  • Finally, click on the Submit application form button. Your application form gets submitted.

WB TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for WB TET 2023 must fulfill the eligibility criteria to take part in the exam. The eligibility criteria include age limit, minimum education qualification, etc. Applicants who are applying for Lower and Upper Primary level teachers have different eligibility requirements. The criteria is decided by the NCTE and it may change over time. Check the basic criteria required for WB TET from the table given below:

WB TET Eligibility Criteria for Lower Primary level (Class 1 to 5)

The minimum qualification requirements to apply for the TET exam for lower primary teachers are given below:
  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed).
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education(B.El.Ed).
  • Candidate must have 50% marks or higher in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • Candidate must have completed Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

WB TET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary level (Class 6 to 8)

Candidates who are applying for the upper primary level teacher eligibility exam must fulfill the educational qualification as given below:
  • The candidate must have completed his/her graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (which is by whatever name known).
  • The candidate must have done graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks and a year-long Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • The candidate must be a graduate with at least 45 percent marks and a year-long Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) that is in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations that are issued from time to time in this particular regard.
  • The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or any equivalent) with no less than 50 percent marks and a Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) which is of a duration of four years.
  • The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or an equivalent) with a minimum of 50 percent marks and four years long B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.
  • The applicant must have completed graduation with no less than 50 percent marks and a year-long B.Ed. in Special Education.
  • The candidate must have completed his/her graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks as per the relaxation given by the Ministry of Human Resource Development 
(MHRD) of the Department of School Education and Literacy (see notification number S.O. 918(E) that is dated 1st April 2015, and which has been published in the Gazette of India on the 1st of April in 2015).

WB TET 2023 Exam Pattern

The WB Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) will be in offline (pen and paper) mode.  There are two papers in the exam, Paper I (class 1 to 5) and Paper II (class 6 to 8). WB TET 2023 Admit Card

The official authority will release the admit card for WB TET on its official website. The important information regarding the hall ticket are given below:
  • The hall ticket of WB TET will be available in online mode only.
  • No admit card shall be sent through email or post.
  • Admit card contains the exam date, day, centre of the exam, important instructions. Verify all the details after downloading the admit card.
  • No candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall without a printed copy of the hall ticket.
  • Download and save the PDF of the admit card of WB TET for any future references.

WB TET 2023 Answer Key

After the examination gets over, the officials will release the WB TET answer key paper I and II on its website. Check the details regarding the answer key of WB TET given below:
  • The provisional answer key of WB TET will be released within a week after the exam.
