West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WBTET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) to recruit teachers for Primary and Upper Primary levels in various government and private schools across West Bengal. Eligibility Criteria: To appear for the WBTET exam, the candidate must be a citizen of India and have a minimum educational qualification of Higher Secondary (12th pass) with at least 50% marks. Additionally, candidates must have completed or be pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree.
Exam Pattern: The WBTET exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II. WB TET Eligibility Criteria for Lower Primary level (Class 1 to 5)

The minimum qualification requirements to apply for the TET exam for lower primary teachers are given below:

Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education(D.El.Ed).

Candidate must have a minimum of 50% marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education(B.El.Ed).

Candidate must have 50% marks or higher in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Candidate must have completed Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

WB TET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary level (Class 6 to 8)

Candidates who are applying for the upper primary level teacher eligibility exam must fulfill the educational qualification as given below:

The candidate must have completed his/her graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (which is by whatever name known).

The candidate must have done graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks and a year-long Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

The candidate must be a graduate with at least 45 percent marks and a year-long Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) that is in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations that are issued from time to time in this particular regard.

The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or any equivalent) with no less than 50 percent marks and a Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) which is of a duration of four years.

The candidate must have completed Senior Secondary (or an equivalent) with a minimum of 50 percent marks and four years long B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

The applicant must have completed graduation with no less than 50 percent marks and a year-long B.Ed. in Special Education.

The candidate must have completed his/her graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks as per the relaxation given by the Ministry of Human Resource Development

(MHRD) of the Department of School Education and Literacy (see notification number S.O. 918(E) that is dated 1st April 2015, and which has been published in the Gazette of India on the 1st of April in 2015).

WB TET 2023 Admit Card
