BHU MBA (IB & AB) And PGDBA Application Form
Online application submission has been started The steps to fill the application form for Banaras Hindu University FMS is given below:
- Admission to BHU for MBA and MBA-IB is an online process.
- For registration, Candidates need to have a valid phone no. and e-mail ID, ideally the one they have used for CAT registration.
- Candidates need to apply through the University Admission Portal online (bhuonline.in).
Application Fees:
For General category, the Application fee is Rs 2000/-; and for SC/ST the Application fee is Rs 1000/- which is payable online.
BHU MBA & PGDBA Eligibility Criteria
The admission criteria for Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University or Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University is given below:
- Candidates must have completed their Bachelors are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have a Degree in Medicine, Education, Technology, Agriculture or a Post Graduate Degree with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline from an Institution Recognised by AIU/AICTE are eligible to apply.
- For SC/ST candidates minimum 45% marks are required.
Reservation:
- There will be reservation for – OBC 27% ; SC 15 % ; ST 7.5 %
- 15% of the intake are Paid Seats
- 15% of the intake is for Foreign Nationals
Admission Procedure
- Interested candidates for admission in MBA and MBA-IB programmes for the session 2020-2022 are needed to appear in CAT 2019.
- Candidates also need to separately apply to the Institute for admission.
- CAT score is used by the Institute for short-listing candidates for the MBA and MBA-IB programmes.

BHU FMS Admission Counselling
According to the candidate’s combined merit in CAT 2019, Academic Performance, Group Discussion, and Interview, he will be called for counselling for provisional admission. Candidates won’t be considered for admission by a bare appearance in the CAT, Group Discussion and Interview as a candidate also needs to fulfil the eligibility criteria. Before filling the application form for both CAT and BHU, students are advised to make themselves clear about their eligibility.
In case more than one candidate scores equal rank, then the following rules by the University will be applicable:
- Candidate with higher marks in the qualifying examination will be given preference.
- If the marks in the qualifying exam are also equal then the candidate who is born first i.e. elder in age will be given preference.
Candidates called for counselling for provisional admission need to carry all the original documents like Marksheets, Certificates, Migration, Transfer certificate, Caste certificate. If the candidate is offered provisional admission then all his/her original documents will be detained by the Institute which will be returned after the admission process is fully completed.
BHU FMS Group Discussion and Personal Interview
Those candidates who are short-listed based on their total percentile score in CAT 2019 need to appear for group discussion and interview at Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Admission to these programmes will be done based on combined merit of the candidate in CAT, Academic records, Group discussion, and Interview. Weight of the following are as follows-
CAT – 50%
Academic Record – 20%
Group Discussion – 15%
Interview – 15%
Document Required: Following Documents need to be with the candidate at the time of Group Discussion and Interview, or else the candidate won’t be allowed to appear for GD/PI:
- Score Card of CAT 2019
- GD/PI Call letter
- Self-attested copies of 10th, 12th, up to the latest available mark sheet.
- A banker’s cheque / crossed bank draft/pay order of Rs 2000/- drawn in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at Varanasi.
Short-listed candidate’s non-appearance in GD/PI at the scheduled date and time will disqualify them for admission to the program.
