Compartment Exam are held for Class 10th and Class 12th after result declaration every year. The board has given a chance to students who were not able to pass the examination. Because nobody wants to repeat the same class. Usually, the examination conducts in the month of July. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases class 12th compartment date sheet online at cbse.nic.in. How to Apply for CBSE Compartment Exams 2024 ?
The application process for the CBSE Compartment Exams 2024 will start in June 2024. Students can apply for the exams through their respective schools.
CBSE Class 10th Compartment Result 2024 Live Updates:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the official schedule for the CBSE Compartment Exams 2024. However, the tentative exam dates have been announced, and the exams are expected to be held in July 2024. The detailed subject-wise date sheet is expected to be released in June 2024.
Eligibility for CBSE Compartment Exams 2024: Students who have failed in one or two subjects in the CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 exams 2024 are eligible to appear for the CBSE Compartment Exams 2024.
- The results for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Supplementary examination 2024 have been declared.
- Candidates can check their results on results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in.
- Students who took the CBSE Class 10 Compartment, Improvement, or Improvement+Compartment exam 2024 can access their scores.
- To check the results, candidates need to log in using their roll number, school number, and admit card ID.
- The Class 10 Compartment exams were held from July 17 to 22.
- The results of the Class 12 Compartment exam have already been announced.
- This year, a total of 1,27,622 students appeared for the CBSE Class 10 Compartment examination.
- Out of them, 60,551 students, which is 47.40 per cent, have successfully cleared the exam.
- The pass percentage for girls stands at 49.90 per cent, while for boys, it is 46 per cent.
CBSE Compartment Exam 2024
The CBSE Compartment Exam 2024 is an opportunity for students who have failed in one or more subjects in the CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 exams to improve their scores. The CBSE Compartment Exam 2024 exam is held in July 2024.
The following are the eligibility criteria for the CBSE Compartment Exam 2024:
- The candidate must have appeared in the CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 exams in 2024.
- The candidate must have failed or secured less than the minimum qualifying marks in one or two subjects.

General Instructions to be followed before Appearing for Exams:
1. All the candidates will carry their own hand sanitizer in transparent bottle and water bottle.
2. All the candidates will cover their mouth and nose with mask/cloth.
3. All candidates will follow Physical distance norms.
4. Parents will guide their ward(s) about precautions on Covid-19.
5. Parents will ensure that their ward is not sick.
6. All instructions issued in Examination Centres will be strictly adhered to by the candidates.
7. Candidates will follow all instructions given in Admit Card.
8. Duration for each examination will be as given in the date-sheet and Admit Card.
9. Answer books would be distributed to candidates between 10.00 A.M. – 10.15 A.M.
10. Question paper will be distributed at 10.15 A.M.
11. From 10.15 A.M. – 10.30 A.M. (15 minutes), candidates shall read the question paper.
12. At 10.30 A.M. candidates will start writing the answers.
13. In addition to theory Examination given above, there will also be practical examination in respect
of those candidates who have failed in practical in a subject involving practical.
14. Candidate appearing for the Compartmental Examination in a subject involving practical work
are required to appear in theory only in case they have passed in practical.
15. Candidate examination in respect of private candidate will be held at the theory examination
centre unless otherwise notified.
16. Private candidate should contact the Principal of the school of their theory examination centers
for date and time of practical examination before theory examination is over. The practical
examination should be completed before 28th September, 2024.
17. Practical examination for regular candidates in all the subjects will be held at each school for
their own candidates.

CBSE Compartment 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria
The applicants can check the eligibility criteria for CBSE Class 12th as well as Class 10th students are given as follows.
CBSE 12th Compartment Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
- Students who failed in any one of their five subjects are eligible to appear in CBSE Compartment Examination.
- Candidate having 6 subjects and got compartment in two subjects can appear in any one of the two compartmental subjects.
- Students who have 6 subjects and declared PASS but could not clear one subject, can appear as an Improvement category in July 2024.
- The applicant will be given three chances to clear their compartment exam 2024. The first one will be in July 2024, the second one in March/April 2024 and last chance will be in July 2024.
CBSE 10th Compartment 2024 Exam Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidate can apply for CBSE Compartment Exam only in one or two subjects in which they are placed in the Compartment.
- The students who have appeared in Class 10th exam and are placed in EIOP (Eligible for Improvement of Performance) category will eligible for the exam.
- Students who are placed in the EIOP category will be given only one opportunity to appear in the exam. If a student fails to clear the exam and gets NIOP (Not Eligible for Improvement of Performance) in their CBSE Compartment Result 2024, then the candidate cannot appear in the second chance.
How to apply for CBSE Compartment 2024 Exam?
There is a different application form procedure for regular and private students. Candidate can check complete procedure for online form submission:
- Go to the official website i.e. cbseonline.ernet.in/pvtform/
- Enter on “Online Application for Class XII Compartment / Class X Improvement of Performance Examination”.
- After that look, for “Online Submission of LOC for Compartment/IOP Exam 2024” or “Online Application for Private Candidate for Compartment/IOP Examination 2024”.
- The applicant selects a suitable link as per his/her class i.e. 12th or 10th Class. Submit Roll Number, School Code, Centre Number and click on “Proceed” Button.
- Then, upload the scanned copy of your photo and signature.
- After that, go to the fee payment option. The applicant can submit the fee via demand draft or e-challan.
- After making the payment, click on the “Submit” button and take a printout of the confirmation page for future purpose.
- Lastly, Candidate has to send documents to the address of the regional office within 7 days. Documents such as a photocopy of the confirmation page, photocopy of mark sheet and e-challan must be sent.
Enrollment as a CBSE Private Candidates 2024
As per CBSE circular, Candidates Eligible to apply as Private Candidate for All India Secondary School Examination (CLASS X) is given below.
Class 10th Compartment (02 SUBJECTS):
- Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.
- Students fall under COMPARTMENT category in March 2024 and July 2024 to apply only in the subject in which he/she has been placed in the Compartment.
- Such a candidate who has been fall in the compartment in two subjects may opt for appearing in 5/6/7 subjects in which he/she had appeared in March 2018 Board examination. Such candidate should select his/her category as FAILURE while applying online.
- Candidate applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.

Class 12th Class Compartment (1 SUBJECT):
- Candidates applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.
- Students whose result has been declared as COMPARTMENT in March 2018 and July 2018 to apply only in the subject in which he/she has been placed in Compartment.
- Candidates who got Compartment in one subject may also apply for appearing in 5/6 subjects in which he/she had appeared in March 2018 Board Examination.
- Such candidates should select his/her category as FAILURE while applying online.
- Students applying under COMPARTMENT category cannot apply for appearing in Additional subject together.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Schools will be able to download Admit Cards from 2nd week of July 2024. In case of any discrepancy in the Admit card, schools must contact the concerned Regional Office of the Board.
- In case of any difficulty/queries regarding online submission, the Applicant can contact IT Unit of concerned Regional Offices.
- Visually impaired students are exempted from examination fee of Class 10th/12th.
- The consolidated mark sheet will be released only to Candidates whose result was declared COMPARTMENT in 2019/2024 examination and thereafter declared Pass in Compartment July 2024 Examination.
- The consolidated mark sheet will not be released to candidates whose result is already Pass and now appearing for Improvement of Performance.

Students can appear for three subsequent chances of compartment examination in class XII i.e., if a candidate appears for 2019 examination and placed in compartment then he can appear in July the same year, Second Chance in March/April and Third Chance in July of 2024.
