ISC Cut-Off Percentile 2027

To be declared qualified, students must secure at least 35% marks in each subject — a rule CISCE introduced in 2018, revising the earlier threshold of 40%.

Alongside the result, CISCE also releases the cut-off score for the top 20 percentile of ISC Class 12 candidates. This figure matters for students applying to the IIT JEE Advanced paper, where candidates must demonstrate they fall within the top 20 percentile of successful ISC Class 12 candidates in their respective category.

2024 reference (confirmed) — top-20-percentile cut-off (out of 500):

Note: The 2027 top-20-percentile cut-off scores will be released by CISCE along with the ISC 12th Result 2027. The figures above are from the 2024 cycle and are provided for reference only.

Re-Checking of ISC Result 2027

Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply online for re-checking of the grade awarded in any subject. The re-checking window is open for only seven days from the date of result declaration, so students should act promptly.

The application must be submitted through the prescribed online form on the CISCE portal. A fee of Rs. 1,000/- per subject applies. If the Council identifies an error during re-checking, it revises the marks accordingly. During the process, the following aspects are verified:

• Whether all answers have been evaluated by the examiner.
• Whether continuation sheets attached to the answer booklet are intact.
• Whether there is any mistake in the totalling of marks.

Important Instructions for the CISCE Re-Checking Process 2027

Keep the following points in mind before applying for ICSE or ISC re-checking in 2027:

• Re-checking applications are processed only for subjects whose examinations were conducted by CISCE.
• The form must be submitted through online mode only — no physical applications are accepted.
• Submit the form only once; multiple submissions for the same subject are not accepted.
• Once the form is submitted, the Council evaluates the answer script. The decision of the Executive and Secretary of CISCE is final.
• Three specific checks are carried out: whether all answers are marked, whether totalling of marks is correct, and whether the marks on the front of the answer sheet match the internal marks.

ISC Compartmental Exam Discontinued — Improvement Exam Introduced

CISCE discontinued the compartmental examination for both ICSE and ISC from 2024 onwards. In its place, students may appear in the Improvement Examination to improve marks or grades in a maximum of two subjects within the same academic year. This exam is held tentatively in July each year. Students planning to appear for the ISC Improvement Exam 2027 should monitor the official CISCE website closely for notifications, schedules and application procedures, which are released after the main result.

4. Apply for re-checking within seven days if you believe any subject marks are incorrect. The window closes quickly.
5. Note the Improvement Examination schedule (expected July 2027) if you wish to improve marks in up to two subjects.
