Following is some general information about the NIFT online form 2020. Read them thoroughly to clarify all the doubts.

  1. Firstly, the NIFT application form 2020 has been available from 23 October 2019.
  2. Then, the aspirants can fill the application form through online mode only. There will be no offline application form for NIFT Entrance Examination 2020.
  3. Also, the candidates, who apply for the examination after the deadline for submission of the online application form, need to submit a late fee of Rs. 5,000 /- in addition to the online application form fee.
  4. Further, the applicants should take a print out of the completed application form and keep it safe for future reference.
  5. Finally, the candidates should also keep proof of payment safe.

NIFT Application Fee

Given below are the fee structure for taking part in the exam. These must be paid before the terminating dates in order to be eligible for the exam. Also, the method of payments is also described below. Read them carefully to clear all the doubts regarding payment issues.

NIFT Admit Card 2020

  • The Admit Card has been given to the candidates only through online mode.
  • NIFT 2020 admit card will be released on 19 January 2020.
  • NIFT Admit Card will not be sent through the post.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus of the NIFT entrance examination is been divided into 2 sections, i.e, CAT & GAT. GAT syllabus for M.Des/B.Des courses will consist of topics like Quantitative Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, Communication Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs. CAT test helps in to judge the ability, power of observation in concept development and design ability of the applicants.

General Ability Test (GAT)

In GAT, the questions are asked from various sections which are:

  • Quantitative Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the applicants. The test contains questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Fractions, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance.
  • English Comprehension: This test aims to test the applicant’s ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage, and test of Basic English language.
  • Communication Ability: This test aimed at testing the language ability of the applicants day to day communication in English. It consists of questions on synonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, antonyms, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings etc.
  • Analytical Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the applicant’s capacity for the ability of inference and logic from the given detail. In this section, questions are put up from the logical reasoning areas and applicants need to draw logical conclusions from the analytical reasoning questions.
  • Current Affairs and GK: This test is designed to test the applicant’s general knowledge and current affairs.
  • Case Study: This test will be based on a situation of an industry surrounding. It
    helps to calculate the applicant’s managerial ability in a particular situation.

Creative Ability Test (CAT)

This test is held for admission in M.Des and B.Des programmes only. In this section, questions will put up to judge the intuitive ability, design ability, and power of observation in the concept development of the applicant.

An important aspect of the test is the innovative and creative use of colour and illustration skills. Candidates have to use their imagination and work on their drawing skills to create new ideas by using colours. Check the CAT exam more details.
