AIMA MAT 2022 Exam Pattern is prescribed by the All India Management Association (AIMA). Candidates appearing for the MAT 2022 must be aware of the MAT exam pattern. This gives an idea about the total no. of questions asked in the exam, sectional marking, marking scheme, total marks, exam duration, etc. Candidates must be updated with the September session exam pattern. AIMA MAT Exam Pattern 2022 Section Wise

  • There is 5 sections in the exam  i.e Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Indian and Global Environment
  • AIMA MAT Exam takes place in an online mode.
  • Each section has 40 questions
  • Exam duration is 150 minutes i.e  2hr 30 min (Sectional time limit is there)
  • Total number of questions is 200. 
  • The level of the paper is easy to moderate

AIMA MAT Marking Details

As per the exam pattern:
  • The candidate will get 1 mark for every correct answer
  • There is the provision of the negative marking i.e - 0.25 marks for each wrong or unattempted questions.

  • Questions are based on Antonyms/synonyms of the words & phrases as used in the passage; True/false statements; main idea of RC passage
Part-2: Verbal Ability
  • 20 questions 
  • 50%Sectional Weightage of verbal ability.
  • MCQ format and the penalty for wrong answer
  • Jumbled Paragraphs (3-4 questions)
  • Error Correction of Adjective, Adverb ,Verb, Noun, Pronoun, and other parts of speech in the Sentences.
  • Antonyms/Synonyms (5-6 questions)
  • Fill in the blanks (3-4 questions)
  • One word substitution (1-2 questions)
  • Correcting the sequence of sentences in the paragraph.
  • Idioms/Phrases (2-3 questions)
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning 
  • Individual or in a set of 3-4 questions.
  • 20% Weightage of Reasoning Section.
  • All questions are MCQs
  • Topics in MAT Reasoning Syllabus are: Questions were based on Family Relation,, series, Incorrect Terms. Clocks & Calendars, Statements-Cause & Effect, Statement –Assumptions, Reasons, analogies, direction, 
Mathematical skills 
  • 40 questions
  • Sectional weightage is20%
  • MCQs  question
  • Arithmetic section  ranges from 15 to 16.
  • Questions are based on Interest, Percentages,Profit, Loss, Partnership. Time and Work, Other questions are based on topics like Equations, Ratio, Proportion & Variation,, Geometry & Mensuration, Permutation and CombinationsProbability among others.
Data Analysis and Sufficiency

  • 25% Sectional Weightage inPercentile Calculation
  • Data Analysis is  based on graphs (line, area  text, tables,), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram.
  • More questions on data interpretation i.e 50%  of the section.

  • No Sectional Weightage in Percentile Calculation
  • Questions are formed on Who’s who, States of India, Sports, Film Awards, taxation & duties, Indian constitution,, Recent events etc
