IIFT result 2023 will be released online mode on the website. The Result will be mentioned with the candidate’s name and roll number or application number of the candidate selected for next rounds of the admission procedure. GD, PI and IIFT Final Result 2023
The selection rounds of IIFT involve 3 main steps.
- Written Test – IIFT Exam is conducted in pen and paper mode.
- A total number of questions range from 120-125 each year.
The question paper is divided into four sections (English Comprehension, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Analysis) and there are sectional cut-offs for each one of these sections.
Candidates are advised to take mock tests online and solve previous year question papers for preparation for the written exam.
- Essay Writing – Candidates shortlisted based on their score in IIFT exam are called for the next round of selection procedure i.e. Essay Writing.
Average Time for this round is 20 minutes and the word limit is 300 words. And, they are tested based on their excellent writing skills and conceptual knowledge about the topics presented.
It is important to read newspapers and to prepare for this round of the selection procedure, candidates should read newspapers carefully, especially the economy and business sections, regularly.
- The last step of the selection procedure for IIFT Exam is the Personal Interview and Group Discussion – GD round is aimed at figuring out how the candidate tends to work in a team.
He may be tested for an inclination to take charge or initiative.
A candidate must have an optimistic, positive attitude and a tendency to resolve conflicts.
As a part of GD, the candidates may be split into groups of 7 or so and then, they may be given a topic related to current affairs or business affairs to discuss.
Candidates are judged and marked on the basis of their ability to initiate proceedings, negotiation & persuasion skills, encouragement skills, managerial in smooth conduct of the group discussion round (who is able to ensure that everyone gets a chance to voice out their opinions) and ability to conclude by summarizing the points of discussion and bring the GD to a meaningful end.

The cut-off list will be released by the Institution after the declaration of the result. Candidates must score the minimum cut off marks to qualify the examination. It is announced for all categories including general, SC/ST, OBC & PH. IIFT Delhi & Kolkata campus cutoff score is different from each other. Based on the cutoff score, candidates are shortlisted for the pre-admission rounds. This round comprises of the personal interview, group discussion & essay writing. Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for IIFT admission test.
Qualifying marks needed:
- The candidates must have completed their 3-year Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% marks for General/Unreserved category candidates.
- For SC / ST / PwD candidates, candidates must have 45% minimum marks.
For Foreign Nationals / NRI
- The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks.
- Those who are appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply.
Foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates can take admission Via GMAT scores
NRI and Foreig nationals, if are not present in India at the time of IIFT entrance test, do not need to appear for it. They can apply via GMAT scores. A shortlisted candidate would be required to undergo a Personal Interview at IIFT campus.
Notes
- In order to qualify the status of the international candidate, the candidates must be residing outside India for a period of not less than 18 months and be outside India during IIFT examination.
- The Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with the application, a certificate from Indian Embassy / High Commission / Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently based, stating that the candidate is a resident of that country for not less than 18 months.
- The foreign nationals need to have a valid passport/travel document. The foreign nationals who are present in India during IIFT entrance test are required to take the same.
- Those candidates who have appeared for any of the following exam such as CAT / XAT /MAT / IIFT, in that year are not eligible to apply. Such candidates are required to submit the undertaking for the same.
- NRI Sponsored candidates and Children of NRIs are not considered under this category.
